They're marketing the BRAND as exciting and worth the money which is something boxing can't do.
The other smart things that UFC has done is to basically become the sports franchise of Las Vegas. They are consistently pumping out PPV's. You train the consumer. Wanna see our product? THIS is what it costs. And we won't be replaying it for free next week.

Boxing can't do it because there's no coordinated effort. Boxing has competing promoters who work against each other, thereby working against the sport.

For example, when you have Freddie Roach, a respected trainer and Bob Arum, a big promoter, telling the boxing public not to buy the Mayweather fight, how does that benefit THE SPORT? Hell, it doesn't even benefit their own fighter. Wouldn't you want a big, popular, well-regarded opponent?

The other thing that MMA does well is to have reasonable weight classes. none of this every 4,5,6 pounds bull****. Just have a few classes. That way, the best guys can't hide from each other. They can do that because there are not a bajillion sanctioning bodies each collecting fees from eleventy billion weight classes.

              but better investment.

              $50 for 5-7 fights is a deal.

You pay for 2-4 in boxing.

Whats funny is that when you have so much competition for particular service or product, the consumer normally benefits from cheaper costs at a higher quality, you get more **** for your buck. Yet, with all the promoters and people involved in boxing, it doesn't happen.

the only reason Mayweather has MMA in his mouth is because he is replying back to **** that Dana White has said.. It's Dana White who constently has boxing in his mouth.
I think Dana is more threatened by Boxing then the other way around.
