caleb is skilled , tough and he is determined. I will say this , caleb plant has tremendous intangibles.

caleb has to go out and fight his game plan and stick with it . The great thing about boxing is you can win 1 round at a time

3 min ,you have to outbox/ hit and dont get hit for 3 min at a time
    Is that all ?

People giving Plant any props should be flooding this thread with props for Nelo.

If we are being real, what has Plant done that Nelo hasn't ? And vs better opponents.

      ''Plant is 'slick' !''

Um, in comparison to who ?
And wouldn't Nelo look ''slick'' vs those guys, too ???

I’m inclined to go with the flow on this one and suspect Canelo may catch up with him in the later rounds. However there are a few factors that suggest this is going to be a much closer fight than everyone is expecting.

Canelo has fought fighters of a similar size to plant recently, Smith and Kovalev. Smith went the distance although was clearly only there to survive. Kovalev got stopped late but was coming off the back of a very hard fight against Yarde, a short training camp and was well past his prime. Point being that Canelo both time was taken int ok the tail end of the fight and couldn’t make his power count early against guys with a significant height and reach advantage, both of whom were arguably inferior boxers to plant at this point of his career. People forget just how big plant is for 168.

          Canelo 5’ 8”, 70.5” reach
          Saunders 5’ 10”, 71” reach
          Plant 6’ 1”, 74” reach

Way bigger than both Canelo and Saunders. That’s going to make it a lot easier for him to stay on the outside and going to make Canelo work a lot harder to catch him. He struggled to close distance on Kovalev who was winning the fight when he stopped him. People are looking at the Saunders fight and just assume plant will go the same way. I don’t think that’s a given. Plant seems to be coming to win, lives the life unlike Saunders and is significantly bigger. Reasonable to expect Plant gives Canelo a much better run for his money. I give him perhaps a 40/60 chance of the upset.

Good thing Nelo is not a slow handed headhunter with terrible defense.
Yes, almost anything can happen when fists fly, but the odds are not good for Plant.

40/60 I’d say. Reckon it’ll be a much closer fight than Saunders, perhaps go the distance.

BHS thought he had edges too and I'd pick him to beat Plant.
Maybe if Plant forgets about throwing combos and does the jabjabjab/holdholdhold/movemovemove dance for 12 rds, maybe Nelo gets frustrated ? Gassed ?

Like I said. Nelo is not a primitive guy who's entering his 1st rodeo. He's very smart considering he loves to fight. He is not going to just bow his head due to height and reach. A tree is much bigger than an axe but no one told that to the axe

I think it needs to be noted that whilst Plant is huge, this fight is at super middle which is comfortable for Canelo but I imagine Plant has to drain down a fair bit. And the bigger Plant is, the bigger the target is and his body is fkn huge!

Plant can’t just sit back and box, at times I think he needs to maul and smother Canelo’s work a la Ward. Canelo likes it tidy and clean, and if you can’t outbox him then you need to take that away from him.
