Why was Floyd Mayweather never the undisputed champion in any weight class

Mayweather at 147 was actually the most vulnerable Mayweather. Why didn’t he become undisputed in the lower weight classes he fought in?

who in the hell did Brook ever beat to be some world beater man?? Porter?

Floyd fought Genaro hernandez to become the lineal 130 champ, Genaro was the man at 130 as he beat Azumah nelson. During that run he also beat Manfredy, Jesus Chavez, and Corrales. The best fighters at 130.

Then he fought Castillo twice and became the 135 champ.

Agreed 140 he wasn't the man, but he dominated Chop Chop who is one of the best journeymen, and dominated Gatti

At 147 he beat Baldomir who was practically undisputed, he beat undisputed Zab Judah but couldn't afford the IBF belt iirc.

At 154 he beat Cotto, Oscar, and Canelo. Who were the best guys that he should've fought?

But he fought in many weight classes and his search for money/fame came at the latter stages of his career.

Imo At 135 Floyd was at his best I also hold the view that Robinson, great as he was... was his best At lightweight.

I’m a Mayweather fan but the guy was one of the biggest cherrypickers in the history of boxing. That’s one of the benefits of having great boxing minds who understand styles and matchmaking around you.

Mayweather ducked everyone with a style that would give him problems. The cherry picking almost went wrong against Castillo, Zab Judah and Maidana but he survived. However, one thing I’ll give him credit is his ability to perform better in rematches.

Imagine a Mayweather who wanted to emulate Ali by fighting everyone and fighting outside Vegas - what would his record look like? I’d say there will be 3 losses on his record.

So when talking about top-3 GOATs in boxing - always mention these 3 before debating if Mayweather belongs in the top-10 or not (I have him 9 on my list): Ali, Ray Robinson, Ray Leonard.

Those are not the best fighters though the best fighters are prime Shane, Manny, Cotto, he backed out of fights with Margarito, Winky Wright and Manny.

You can boast about beating prime Corrales, Hatton, and I will throw in Canelo but that lineup is going to barely get you top 30 all time and thats exactly where Floyd is.

At 130 Floyd didn't beat the best fighters,& Genaro Hernandez was already washed up & had only beaten Nelson because he was as ancient as can be,Corrales was the best fighter he faced at 130. By definition the best fighters are those who are champions. He didn't fight Freitas who was considered the #2 & Ibf champ.(& Casemayor also beat Corrales twice,who Freitas beat, although Corrales beat Freitas it wasn't at 130)

And Floyd beat Canelo at 152 despite already having fought at full jmw v both Dlh & Cotto so he Shouldn't get full credit by his own words"not fighting him at his best"

Floyd called out prime Shane/Oscar, they didn't want to fight him at the time. Floyd and Manny are both responsible for not fighting in 2010. Floyd was also supposed to fight Cotto in 2005 but Arum said Cotto was too new.

At the time around 2006-2007, Margarito was losing to PW and Santos, and was not a champion. Baldo was, so it made sense he fought him. The only time Marg was the boogeyman was when he beat Cotto, but that victory is now tainted because the handwraps, and Mosley destroyed Margarito at the very next fight.

I agree 100% he backed out of Winky. That's the only fighter I see that Floyd legit ducked.

Also top 30 is more than fair imo. I don't think Floyd or Manny are top 10 fighters. But I think Floyd has to be ranked ahead of Manny.

regardless, Genaro was THE man at 130, plus Corrales was an amazing win.

Baldomir had every belt except IBF, he refused to pay because he was legit that broke. Now whether he was a great champ or not, he was THE champ because he beat undisputed Judah and after he beat Gatti.

I agree he shouldn't get full credit for beating Canelo, but it is amazing because no other fighter since then could do what Floyd did on Canelo.
