Her lack of experience shouldnt be an excuse. They tried to feed her a middle aged soccer mom with a losing record, and some chick that only had one more fight than her. These are record padding cans made for someone in her position and she still managed to **** it up. Her foray into MMA was only marginally better than CM Punks for ****s sake.

I saw potential and heart. Clearly can box and carrys power and just generally strong either focus 100% in mma or dont do it. Looks out of element grappling n clearly knows zero bjj cant fight off back which is vital. If choose to continue mma by 30 should be legit. Once get the kicking down get adapt elbows and knees . just her raw power alone wrestling or judo should come natural yet her submission moves n fighting off back ? Who knows.. Overall was a Great card wonderful card honestly the heavyweight welter amazing fights

I know but training for MMA is truly specific to MMA. I can tell you as someone who has worked with fighters. Its not that having experience in various arts does not help, but If you break down the schematics of a typical MMA bout, you can pretty much find a set of maybe 10 techniques that have to be understood to compete. You must know how to deal with those scenarios, be a great athlete and a fighter who likes to compete.

In the old days, the Gracie brothers had a great advantage because nobody knew how to deal with being controlled in the guard, and how to fight when mounted. Then people learned to deal with being taken down (how to sprawl), how to neutralize the techniques applied from the guard and mount, and the rest is history.

The proof of this is also what happens when technical skills come full circle in MMA: Great example is breaking the knee with a side kick. This is something people in Karate and many forms of old Ju Jutsu knew about for years... it was assumed that "well it can't work in the ring because it doesn't work in reality" and then... "walla! people learn to kick well enough that they can break a man's knee in MMA, and suddenly the technique is dangerous! Like people who know how to break a knee have known for years lol.

My point is, what people think MMA is, what it proves... and reality are two different things. The level of technical skill assumed to be the driving force of greatness in MMA is specific to what you need to learn in the ring and not any great technical fiat. I know this is complicated let me simplify: Most martial arts skills applied in MMA are rudimentary. For example, if you know how to choke someone they should be out in less than 10 seconds, and usually a lot less...
When someone comes into the sport as a de facto excellent technician, it doesn't really even mean so much in the ring... It gives you an advantage until people understand what they are lacking... For example, believe it, or not, Ronda Roussey was, by far, the most technically accomplished women's MMA fighter in this era and maybe ever. What it got Ronda was greatness until she decided to play like everyone else and got punched in the face like everyone else.

Nunnes wins because she can punch people in the face really hard.

Finally the delusional, ugly, ****** fraud Shields loses. Unfortunately it was against a journeyman MMA fighter - I would have preferred to see her lose in boxing!

Im here listening to this thread and bothered with how different I see things here... Seems to me that woman's MMA is the very essence of capricious. I mean we finally get Roussey who has the game, looks unbeatable, and patoey!! a decent punch destroys her, the Nunnes does it again... And that fighter that intiially destroyed Roussey? Great?, good? Good Golly miss Holly... and here we are with Nunnes. What can Nunnes do? Punch. Thats what greatness in woman's MMA has been reduced to.

Women lose MMA matches all the time. The only person that doesn't seem to lose is Nunnes, and Cyborg had a legit run, but with a lot of chemical help lol. Shields can probably punch as well as Amanda. She might have to learn how to use that punch differently in MMA... It shouldn't be a show stopper though. Its not like men's MMA where when you have a weakness it will be teased, exploited... They will James Toney your a s s if you can't take it on the ground...

Its not even relevant that Shields lost because it was a close match, could have gone the other way. Give shields a few more fights, let her look at how Nunnes plays the game, and IMO she can do anything she wants in the sport...

The last person who had devistating ground techniqhe that would take years to overcome was Roussey... Bottom line. And she was overcome really fast. She took such a beating that it really left her like Jeff Lacey. Just saying

Nines has lost. She was tko’d by zingano and beat up bad. Zingano was then beat by rousey in -3 seconds. After that, nunes got bigger and borderline unstoppable
