I can’t argue with that at all. She’s paper chasing, that’s all it is. With this loss she becomes unmarketable in mma

The victimhood posters will cry and make excuses but that lil Messican girl was strong. Shields had a 5 inch height advantage and a big weight advantage.

What a great win for Montes. 21 years old? Wow.

Just read she trains out of the same gym as Irene Aldana, Alexa Grasso, Karina Rodriguez and Alejandra Lara. Those are all class fighters. I'm surprised they put Shields in with her. MMA doesn't **** around.

Shields did very well and will likely be back in MMA.

Nobody had heard of Montes though, she wasn't some touted prospect.

Shields did extremely well, although things didn’t go her way. 1st off this isn’t her sport but she just happen to be so good at contact sports she’s able to compete! I would suggest she work on the ground game her physical strength and overall technique and she could become a force, however it will take some time nothing great comes over night. The young lady she was in with had 7 years of experience and on the ground and her wrestling showed it. Y’all haters gone hate; MF’ers!
Who gives a ****, Shields knew what she was getting into and was confident she would "conquer" MMA.that mexican should of choked her ass out and taught her ass a lesson.

Shields needed to be humbled a bit. Guess she is not the greatest woman that ever lived as she proclaims, lol.

Its all a big cauldron of inconsistency. You get a better view of it in men's MMA... The Gracies were professional fighters and when they started the tourney and beat the beaks off other fighters it was more because they were professionals fighting amatuer fighters, and because they focused on putting the opponent in a position that they had all the understanding of. But look at how soon the Gracies lost their advantage when other professional fighters entered the tournament.

If you look at women's MMA Roussey was a version of the Gracie advantage. She was technically accomplished to a point where, like the Gracies, she could out her opponent in a position where they were unfamiliar, unable to fight from. And that lasted until? Someone from a boxing background could punch her in the face while avoiding the arm bar...

So to me? Shields may have to fight a few times, but can learn the corpus of techniques, If nothing else... just ask Holly Holm what she did, practice not getting grounded and pounded, at any rate, learn the things that apply in the ring, and learn to counter them, then proceed to do what Nunnes learned to do...
