So you're in agreement that Usyk made a bad business move then? Ukrainian machismo has now screwed over 2 fighters with the same trainer.

I guess I got around to saying that quite late.

He would be right where he started by beating Fury if Usyk had the Wbo
Yes in a NY minute - casuals who make up the bulk of the PPV don't think like fans who write on this forum. Your opinion does not count as much as you would like to think.

Considering his situation and the fact he has made peanuts his entire career i do not blame him for signing the rematch clause. He has secured his family stability for life. Could he be in an even better position? Absolutely but he has not done too bad. Now he has millions in the bank to match his skillset. If he lost the fight it would not have made the slightest bit of difference so maybe he was paid extra for accepting a rematch clause as you rightfully addressed there didn't need to be one

That's the other thing about accepting the clause he guarantees himself two big paydays - the second fight against a guy he already beaten. Does not look like a bad decision to me.

The way games are played without the clause he could find himself with the title and Fury not interested in him - could waste months if not years chasing a fight.

Pre AJ only people on this forum knew who he was and only some of them.

You're missing the point entirely"he didn't guarantee himself 2 paydays by signing rematch clause" because it only applied if he won which he was 100% sure he would in his mind.

Had he not had the clause he would have all the leverage over both AJ/ Fury & if AJ was the highest bidder he could still fight him again anyway (but hed get lions share as AJ wouldn't have any other choice but to pay up) & he would have the choice to go in whichever direction he wanted that was best for him

Of course I understood how a rematch clause works - he guarantees himself two fights only if he wins -

What you don't see is that this guy has NO leverage over anyone - even right now after the win over AJ he is the odd man out - casuals barely know his name -

If there was no rematch clause AJ right now might jump right into a Fury fight - other than people on forums like this no one would care they would still buy that fight -

The scantioning bodies have made themselves less important by creating too many belts - they really no longer mean anything - it is, and has always been, whether you can put assess into seats- this 'Russian' guy can't do that *** -

With or without the clause he will get the better half of the % with an AJ rematch - the clause will not change the split - had there been no clause and he tried to take more than offered he would be squeezed out - the casual don't know his name or care about him - you have to realize the rest of the world does not see the fight game as we do and we don't make up enough of the population to carry a HW fight economically- we need the casuals

*** I know the guy is actually not Russian - that's the point - to the casuals they are all just 'Russians' he is just another one whose name no one can pronounce - too most casuals you could actually switch fighters to another 'Russian' whose name starts with a U and they wouldn't notice.

Do you actually think Fury would go straight to fighting either of them right after getting kd twice in last fight? Let alone after AJ getting schooled & having no belts?(casuals still know belts & want to watch undisputed even if 1 guy(Fury has to sell it)

Because he wanted two big paydays, pretty simple.

If Joshua vacates and Usyk fight joe blow for the title, how much money would he earn compared to fighting Joshua twice?
