Now what's worrying is that its seems from that fight he seems tentative to engage.

In the Ruiz rematch if he fought any other way than he did he would have lost. As we saw in the Usyk fight a good game plan should never be underestimated.
Noel, we are talking about Andy Ruiz man. He is not some great great fighter. I understand the importance of having a good gameplan and tailoring it to your opponent.

But saying you aren't equipped to get into a firefight with Ruiz, when you are someone as big and strong and technically solid as AJ, I mean that says all you need to know about the guy. He isn't top level.

Joyce would walk through Joshua and would probably take out Wilder too. Just watch. He's another big, awkward, comfortable nightmare of a fighter.

No i agree he is probably the only heavyweight that i feel would not go down if Wilder landed his big right hand on his chin but he is extremely slow and you wouldnt stand and trade with him. just cirlcle him and beat him to the punch. he punches like he is in the matrix i always think i've paused my TV when he lets a punch go. He has a good engine though

After getting knocked out by him 6 months prior that is exactly what i am saying his mindset was frail. Similar to Wilder vs Fury. Wilder is more than equipped to have a firefight with Fury but what good did it do him. You have a Fat **** in Ruiz that can only let combinations go when his feet is set. Don't allow him to set his feet. He damaged his eye with one shot in the first round he knows he can hurt him but he boxed to instructions. I don't understand why he is being vilified for a routine win

Agree with this really. It would be different if Ruiz had that sort killshot at distance to take him out with one shot. But like you say he only really showed an ability to throw with AJ at midrange and certainly inside and only when he set his feet. Then he rolled up at 20 stone in a rematch.

I dunno how good Ruiz was in those fights really even the one he won. To me AJ basically got stopped with the big temple shot and anything after that was academic when he was getting bounced around. I think he even won a round after that when Ruiz had already sent him to the moon.

I do think AJ has fell in love with becoming a great boxer because he has been improving. He did a few pull counters and s.hit vs Pulev. He probably on some level was gassed he had a few pretty textbook rounds vs Uysk where he did box with him and he did win the rounds and hurt Usyk but then he couldnt switch it up when needed.

I agree with the silk pyjamas argument really. It is a question of how dark AJ is prepared to go because once boxing is done he is going to have a comfortable, more than likely happy life with endless possibilities of what to do with his time. He's a bit of a national treasure. I dont think many people would remain as resilient when they know the finish line is in sight. That's why he always talks about improvement I think. To distract himself from knowing he is more than comfortable.

Fury on the other hand is a boxer. He knows he will probably be depressed when its finished and he knows he has enough money to live like he does for a million years. Wilder or at least Wilder the fighter might actually be a psychopath so that's his motivation. Be a King. Catch a body. Be violent

AJ to me just seems fairly fu.cking normal, lol.

Again, if you were saying 'don't go toe to toe with Joe Frazier' etc or anyone that level, I get it. But it's Andy Ruiz man.

If you are fighting in the squared circle, you have heart. What Joshua seems to lack is fire, but that might just be because he thinks he always has to act cool.
