Originally posted by andocom View PostDAZN in Australia is pretty wild, I've had an account since it was in free beta testing. They used to have decent content, same as elsewhere I guess.
Now the UK matchroom stuff is on Foxtel/Kayo which is paid cable, so now dazn is basically ak and barak, occasional fights and documentaries on soccer players (WTF?).
The idea behind dazn is decent IMO, execution has been pretty terrible. Matchroom putting their stuff on pay tv here is bizarre.
You'll get other sports as DAZN isn't just a boxing app in most territories. And probably won't be just boxing here in the future.
As for a DAZN PPV model, I'd obviously rather not pay more, but accept it will happen. For example, Fury v Joshua was being negotiated... do we really think that kind of dual network fight could have subscription on one side and PPV on the other? I'd always assumed it would have been a DAZN PPV outside of the UK.
As you know, we just did similar this weekend with Fury v Wilder. PPV through the Kayo app that we already subscribe to. I didn't think anything of it. Was worth the money so I paid it.
Subscription still works. It's the complicated dual network fights that will be a challenge.Last edited by Toffee; 10-12-2021, 09:04 PM.

I take issue with that word. It's ban worthy, considering also your tone in the previous posts, and your post history. Real 'negroes'? I see Hopkins more like an Uncle Tom. Keep your racism out of this forum, it's called non-stop boxing.

Regardless I hope they get there act together soon, the app IMO is pretty terrible, maybe it makes more sense in countries where there is plenty of content, but you go in the upcoming schedule and there is nothing, you click day to day of just blanks, instead of showing a list of when upcoming fights are on, even if there are one or two a month just show them for god's sake.
You leave a 5 hour card, then go back in and it starts from the beginning with no indication of where you have previously watched to, I mean have these devs never watched YouTube or Netflix, thats a day one feature requirement, then break the card into chapters so you can skip individual fights.
But yeah, get some content in there ASAP, get the 50 or so matchroom cards, buy the rights to other content like BT or Sky stuff if they haven't sold it elsewhere, get some momentum going instead of this half arsed launch which is probably doing more harm than good.

not an offensive word at all...and it isnt meant in an offensive way.. Whyte, Chisora and AJ are my fav boxers curently. When you are being exposed on a forum for what you are, what category you belong to, don't try to move the goalposts by calling someone a racist. Hood**** can come from any race, we have them in the uk too. ive seen hoodrat blacks, asians, whites, eastern europeans...that is moreso because they aspire to fit into that modern translesbian rap culture...(which isnt really black, but a bastardisation of authentic black cultures(.
i say i look upto B-hop and andre ward, you come back with 'dat uncle tom'.
seriously go ffff yourself for that. Holy shhh, you called that guy an uncle tom? he's the truest black guy you can get. I have listened to his interviews for yrs because he's got a lot of wisdom to share as an old head. He had that strong minded mentality that allowed him to live a spartan life consistently...and i wanted that for myself, found a lot of motivation and life lesson in his words and energy. However, that makes me an anti black racist because we all know b-hop is just not a real black man, adrien broner is. Adrien broner, the penultimate hoodrat.
