Yes, he might as well remain active because the moment he announces his retirement then the $Mil dollar offers are going to start pouring in immediately in order to lure him out of retirement. Deontay Wilder is every promoters dream. He is still very marketable and promoters can earn a fortune off of him on just his name alone.

Scott's words mean nothing here -- and I say that, because Wilder wouldn't have previously discussed retiring on account of thinking he could win this.
Now that he's had two stoppage losses in a row, including a punishing knockout on Saturday, it is at least time to consider what would be the point in continuing. With all the will in the world, he won't be fighting again for at least six months and his come back would almost definitely be against some lesser opponent to try and rebuild. The earliest we might expect him to get a shot at another belt would be when he's 37 and that's in the kind of age territory where reactions times are decreasing and that could be dangerous. No reason to think he couldn't steam roll some nobody next, but it wouldn't do much for his career. He'd need to face a live dog to really restore any shine and I think that might be a risk given his age.Comment

If Wilder won't consider retirement, maybe he'll consider learning some defensive skills. And building up his legs.Comment

exactly Wilder needs to slim down uostairs and build uo the strenght , power and flexibility in his legs and hips. Man if he were to do some serious power and flexibility training with his legs he qould hit even harder. I suggest , slightly shortening his punches and straighten them up more as well.Comment

So I reiterate: with all the will in the world, he won't be getting another title shot for at least a year.Comment

Malik should stick to licking sweat of his fat birds body......wilder 36 coming off a brutal beating and with a broken hand it’s not going to happen.
we might see him face another PBC fighter like Ruiz but he will not a get a world title fight for at least 2 years minimum.
The reality is he got destroyed in the 2nd fight and was only awarded this fight by a judge and now after getting another fury whooping in the 3rd fight.......he has been cast out to the fighters wilderness.
I don’t see how he gets another world title shotComment

Back to back defeats and the famous “I go out on my shield” debunked with the violent training camp too
Wilder need to admit Tyson Fury is better than him, take the losses like a man and move on or just retire, but please stop with the excuses and conspiracy theoriesComment
