I don't think CTE really works like that. Its more attrition. When these fighters end up punch drunk its usually because they've been fighting for way too long rather than being in one or two wars.

Obviously I'm no expert but my understanding is it's the prolonged beatings like Wilder has taken in the last two fights that contribute to CTE more so than say a one punch knock out. It's your brain ****ing against your skull over and over. Wilder had the piss beat out of him the last two fights.
