Problems with balance would be the issue. I think Fury busted his eardrums. He may have Vertigo from this amd that means early retirement.

It sure looks ot me that wilder's chin is gone so whoever lands first will win in all his future fights. He needs kownacki more than kownacki needs him.

1. Usyk has never been knocked down.
2. Wilder's shots are telegraphed and Usyk is much lighter on his feet than Fury
3. Usyk loves to win by tiring his opponents out
4. Wilder has looked tired early in several of his recent fights
5. Wilder turns 36 in 11 days and would almost definitely be 37 by the time he could get a shot against Usyk
6. The damage he took against Fury isn't going to make Wilder any faster
Tell me which ones are not true.
Just for you, I'll add another two:
7. Wilder needs hand surgery and has shown a tendency to pick up injuries in recent fights.
8. Fury being quicker to the punch proved very costly for Wilder. Usyk is even quicker.Last edited by Monty Fisto; 10-11-2021, 10:06 PM.

Had some concern with Wilder's decision to add >10% of muscle mass for this fight. He is a 220 pound(or less) fighter at his best and while the muscle came on okay, the cardio to supply oxygen to that muscle in short order would be tough to develop. I saw fatigue setting in pretty early. His strategy to jab hard to the body was great, though a bit more feinting and double jabbing would have made it even more effective. Fury was pretty unsettled in the first 2 rounds. Wilder seemed to stop the quick jabs in the third and Fury was able to start advancing again. From that point on Wilder was going on pure guts and determination. It was a hell of a show and I'm glad no one was badly hurt. I just think that as much of an asset as Wilder's power is, the quickness of his strike is a major factor in his KO effectiveness and the extra weight and muscle, in addition to causing the fatigue, may have slowed him just a tad. If a 220 lb. Wilder had come in with quickness and endurance in mind, with the body punching plan of Malik Scott's he may not have broken his hand, and may have slowed Fury enough to beat him. He not only landed good, hard jabs to Fury's middle, he was able to land several crunching right hands to his gut as well. I'm still in the Wilder camp. He may still have trouble getting other people to agree to fight him. Only 2 ways to get oxygen out to muscles. Work cardio to increase heart and lung function, or jack up red blood cell count with high iron foods like liver or other organ meat but all the muscle in the world won't help if it's oxygen starved. I'd also like to see him let his dreadlocks grow and turn them loose down the side of his head to try to make it so Fury can't get a tight seal when he strikes to Wilder's ear in clinches to try break his eardrum and screw with his equilibrium. He seems to have turned this into a science and it appears to be pretty effective. Deontay has had blood coming out of his ear 2 fights in a row.
