As long as Chisora is still out there, so should Wilder.

To be honest, I would pick Ruiz, Hrgovic, Usyk, Joyce and some other guys to beat Wilder.

No way he retires. A top 3-4 heavyweight can still make serious money provided there's interest in the division.

But he was an idiot to chase the third Fury fight, as were his management.

His ego wouldn’t allow it, and that’s ok, he’s been one of the top fighters. He has nothing to really prove or gain now dropping down a level for peanuts in comparison. I just can’t see him doing it.

Besides, that was a horrible sustained beating, even if he dropped Fury. Fighters aren’t the same after that.
Fandom shouldn't blind anyone from what your eyes should be telling you honestly. He was never going to just KO everyone he faces like a video game character. Water should have found its level first against Ortiz. Clearly getting out boxed but then he caught Luis. Good on him but he's been down on the cards for all of his fights for the past fiveish or so years when the fight ended, win or loss, that first fight wasn't a damn draw, Fury won that one too. Being as one dimensional as he is took him way further than he had any right to be. He was always ripe for this type of punishment because he never truly learned how to box. So what now, keep being the #2 because we know that you cant beat the #1. **** that, just retire. He took two monumental beat downs from the #1. If you want to just cash checks, sure, continue to fight. He cannot improve his legacy anymore, he's plateaued. All it can do is become less attractive going forward.

In addition to the physical recovery, the mental recovery is also an issue. Fans and opponents won't look at him the same. He'll never get another title shot, so I can't see him putting in work to fight mid to low tier fighters on free tv for Fox.

Dumbass do you know how many time on this board people said someone needs to retire after one loss? When Joshua lost to ruiz they said he should retire. Hell one of the announcer said tonight kownaski is finished. Is the likely hood of wilder being on a downward spiral even higher now yes but people are not finished just because they lose one fight.

I think Ruiz and AJ destroy Wilder. Dillian Whyte would be a good fight, same as Joseph Parker.

I could see Usyk for sure, but he went 30 rds with the best heavyweight in the world and he still knocked him down 4 times. The most recent one was probably the most competitive so I think he’s gotten better in that timeframe. It’s been awhile since we’ve seen him with anyone other than Fury, so maybe he’ll fight someone else and think to himself, “Wow. This is a lot easier than against that other guy.”

It's very possible. After all, he did eat a lot of flush punches against Tyson Fury in his last two fights. In addition, I've noticed him having trouble with both his balance and equilibrium in the very first round each time he attempted to land a power punch and miss. Both his timing, accuracy and hand to eye coordination were off.

I don't know if it was a result of the punishment he absorbed in the rematch or that he came in at the heaviest of his career at 238 lbs. In any case, he appeared much slower, tired and fatigued than usual as his punches lacked the same snap or pop on them as well.

I don't know if he is permanently damaged only time will. Just speaking for myself; I would personally love to see him retire and never fight again. However, I will support whatever decision he decides to make. If he decides to call it a career I am all for it or if he decides to resume his boxing career I am all for that as well.

Remember that people were saying the same thing about Evander Holyfield when he was knocked out by Rid**** Bowe in their third and final fight of their trilogy as well. Everyone thought that he was finished too and should retire but he came back to defeat Mike Tyson twice to when the world heavyweight titles again..

However, Judging by this trilogy with Tyson Fury one can never count Deontay Wilder out.because he has a warrior's spirit and mentality.who could still punch.
