But don't cheat, throw these shots hard and with proper body mechanics (bending at the waist to the sides and bending the knees with each shot).
You really don’t know the essence of that move do ya? After 19 rounds against wilder, fury already know how wilder throws and telegraphs his right. It is only fitting that they diversify their punches to set it up better. Those body punches kept fury honest the first 2 rounds as he also don’t know when wilder would throw over the top or would he still punch to the body. Im not sure if malik instructed wilder to throw it like 10 times a round, but im sure it was meant to set up the right.

a lot of examples in boxing history have had success doing that.

you saying it was the reason wilder was gassed couldn’t be further from the truth, as he was gassed badly early in the second fight doing none of that.
the difference was again, fury was attacking.. in the first fight fury just kept him at a distance, hence wilder managed to throw 35 punches per round.

All those strategy went out of the window when fury attacked in gronk style and wilder got back to swinging for the fences for his dear life.

going to the body to wear out your opponent and to lower their guard to throw up top is a classic solid strategy.

Wilder started that the first round and abandoned it. Wilder is 35 and too late to really develop any new styles. I think scott tried with getting him to do that. If wilder landed enough to the body then fury should get broken down and tired too. But wilder is a head hunter. He is also bad on the inside. He telegraphs bad. Fury took that first round to analyze him because it was unexpected and fury had to be careful of the low body shots mixed up with a dangerous right hand up top but when he was able to close the distance it was all over.

IDK what else people thought Scott should have or could have done with a 35 year old wilder. I think it shows he atleast made an attempt to fix a weakness which was lack of body shots and no way to setup the right hand.

It wasn't a bad strategy, it just that Wilder cannot beat Fury any time of the week, its that simple.
