And that is my point, Brah. Im not putting down Manny, Floyd or any fighter from today, but I know what Im talking about here and Conn is right there in terms of where they rank p4p. I can have a debate and tell you exactly why. Most of these guys (just look at the poll) are voting without having all the facts. Im not putting the fighters down, Im challenging their fans reasoning. so far I haven't seen much.

Trust me overrated started in the oldschool. A lot of these white fighters that are being put in the pedestal by the jabs & bert sugars of the world are just as overrated as the new fighters they claim as overrated.
Billy conn isn't overrated. He's a pretty good fighter and one of the best LHW of all time.

I dont rate fighters when theyre still in the middle of their careers.

Heres a better question...who do you rate better P4P...Billy Conn or Michael Spinks?

        Id say Spinks.

This is the same billy conn who has 15 kos out of 77 fights, lost to guys named ralph grizzy who was 1-5 then 2-6, ray eberle who was 2-4, took a split decision over the great fritzie zivic ( i dunno, people say he' great) who was 48-16, fought guys wid records of 29-19, 115-29.

but i digress, only modern fighters are labeled overrated. A guy who got tko'd who was 1-1, never.

The hypocrisy of oldschool proponents with the word overrated is sickening in my opinion.

I haven't been able to find much video of Conn, but there is video of some of his opponents and I see no reason not to take the word from multiple reports of the day. I've never had to see Abe Lincoln to know he was a great president.

Ahh, the Ol boxrec reply! Tell me something, does boxrec have the complete records for all fighters from that era or do they explain the circumstances of the time? You're exactly the type of poster Im talking about who like to jump to assumptions without ALL the facts.

White fighters? You're going to bring race into this now? Would you be more comfortable if I used a black fighter, a latino or a *** from back than? I honestly never expected you to stoop to this. Tsk, tsk, tsk.

hehehe. You still haven't answered the question on who you think is P4P better. Anyways, thanks for bringing this topic about Conn. One more fighter to look into.

Ask him to tell you when those fights took place in comparison with his fights against HOF'ers.
