    Jared Anderson

I see this guy getting hyped for allegedly doing well in sparring vs Fury and have seen way too many comments predicting he is the future, a great prospect.
Talking like he has fantastic footwork and serious power.
I've even seen a few claim he is the the heir to Fury.

What on earth are people smoking these days?

There will always be extreme takes on fighters. Honestly the hype for Anderson was kicking up before the Fury sparring.

Before Anderson, I read an article claiming Jermaine Franklin was the top American prospect. Before him it was Jarrell Miller and Charles Martin.

That all being said, Anderson looks better than all those guys to my eyeballs. I like his athleticism, footwork and power. He's skilled and appears fundamentally sound. Top Rank has moved him along nicely; We don't know how good Anderson is but I think his outlook is very promising.

I think the only thing he has going for him is he has an unusual style for a HW. His style is more like a Welterweights or something.
But I'm really not seeing very good footwork, skills or fundamentals.

I'm just seeing a guy plodding forward with no head movement that can't cut off a ring, pot shotting, telegraphing arm-punches and bringing his chin right up as he does. He can't even throw a jab without either bringing his opposing glove up or dropping it, its anywhere but protecting his chin & he likes to step in with it, very front foot heavy, its a recipe for disaster. He has some very dangerous tendencies.

Even these opponents that can only be described as horrendous have all managed to hit him flush an alarming amount of times.

I am really not seeing it with this kid, I think America are just that desperate for a good HW.

To be fair, when Fury was just getting started he looked like crap. Anderson looks no worse.

True he did look crap but I have to strongly disagree with Anderson not looking any worse. Tyson Fury looked very clumsy but I really do not recall him having the amount of flaws, tendencies or novice look Anderson does.

With Fury it was easy to see he had pedigree with Anderson he looks almost like when a NFL player takes up boxing late or something.
