If OSCAR had Canelo power, would he have stopped FLOYD on the ropes?

If we're talking about early Floyd, Corrales and Castillo would fit the description. Especially since Corrales was undefeated when he fought Floyd. They both had high knockout records, but their resumes were better than GGG's and they were also lineal champs at some point too - something GGG was never able to do.

GGG was P4P #1 at one point. Skill wise, Castillo and Corrales come nowhere close to GGG’s level. GGG’s defense is hardcore

When was he ranked #1 and by who? GGG’s resume is much weaker than Castillo/Corrales, so eye test doesn’t matter as much. He’s barely better than Bud imo

If you think he's cherry picking then most boxers are trash because Canelo has a very good resume. So does Floyd ( and Oscar).

For the record, in terms of resume, I would have Floyd > Oscar > Canelo

Canelo has some work to do still assuming he gets by Plant
I don't know. Canelo didn't fight GGG until GGG looked a little vulnerable.

Its one thing to say you fought the guy, its another to say you fought/beat him at his absolute peak, the way Srl beat Hearns. Thats the absolute measuring stick.

Bud was getting jabbed by Benavidez rather easily. That doesn’t happen to GGG. Nobody in industry ever spoke highly of Castillo, Corrales or Bud the way they did for GGG. GGG is the real deal, and it took a special fighter in Canelo to show the world who is the real #1. Lomachenko has GGG #1 himself lol at one point. That Ukrainian don’t need to be doing favors to a Kazakh

Jacobs and Canelo fought GGG the same year. What fight was GGG “vulnerable?” Brook? Tha Kazakh knew the Brook fight was joke so he had to carry him until his patience imploded. The same way Shane Mosley describes that Canelo likes to give fans their money’s worth early on.

                - -Kid Canelo lost a reasonably close majority decision. Oscar lost a split Floydy daddy say Oscar won.

Hmm... I disagree. I think everyone once they become the draw, starts to get selective. I could argue Oscar avoided some people in his career. He did take on a lot of challenges though. He was a warrior.

There hasn’t been a SRL vs Hearns level fight since then. Maybe Oscar vs Felix? But they’re a notch below imo
