Joshua ....beaten klitchcko , pulev , povetkin , whyte . parker , ruiz
Usyk ..... beaten chisora , Witherspoon , gassiev , bellew , briedis , hunter
I think usyk has bittten off more than he can chew and if he is trying to give a comparison to Holyfield facing valuev to him facing Joshua then he is in a whole heap of trouble and it will painful night for him.
interesting fight

Obviously the size disparity is the big question mark, but apart from that I would say it’s Joshua who is out of his depth. Usyk has sick skills. Nobody believed me when I said he’d school Gassiev. Now people know who he is a bit more, but still don’t seem to comprehend. Keep saying, “he hasn’t looked as dominant at heavyweight.” He only has to keep winning. Joshua definitely has to find a way to ko him, there is no way he’ll outbox him. If AJ get decision, it will probably be highly contentious. I’ll be watching and give credit where due if otherwise, but his jab ain’t all that to bother the Ukrainian all that much.Comment

Size definitely matters. Especially your size in relation to your skills. That’s why there are 17 weight classes. GGG can’t go up to HW to fight Fury. I mean he technically could, but the size would be way too much. I also don’t think Naoya Inoue fighting Canelo would be a match we would ever see. And so on.
”But Andy Ruiz doe”
Andy Ruiz is massive. He is bigger than Joshua.
“But Haye vs Valuev doe.”
Valuev also lost to a 49 year old shot Evander Holyfield and got a bogus decision, in the fight right before Haye. Valuev is not a good mention at all. He was extremely slow and unathletic. He moved like Andre Giant.
These massive HW’s like AJ and Fury are also athletic and they are skilled. No where near as bad as Valuev.
Usyk vs Wilder is a better matchup in weight. Even though Wilder is 6’7”, he does not weigh a lot. Wilder weighs as much as prime Mike Tyson weighed. Which is pretty small.
With great skills, you can compensate for being smaller. But even the most highly skilled fighters in history would get to a point where their superior skills can’t overcome size. There is a limit to everything. Like the saying goes “Too much of anything will hurt you.”
Lastly, Usyk’s body shows that he is a blown up Cruiserweight. He is only 215lbs and looks soft in the midsection/chest. Ruiz is also soft looking but that’s at 260-280lbs. He can lose a ton of weight and still be a legit HW. Usyk can’t go any lower.Comment

Valuev had next to zero skill and it was still a fairly even fight. His only claim to fame was his size.
Sammy Scaff also lost to Mike Tyson despite being bigger. Size alone doesn't matter but Joshua brings in much more than Valuev or Sammy Scaff.
More often than not bigger man wins and this will be a factor here too. If AJ wins he won't get mad credit bcs he beat a small guy.Last edited by REDEEMER; 09-24-2021, 06:06 AM.Comment
