I thought the Cotto-Mosley fight was close, then Mosley went onto stop Margarito while Cotto went onto lose to him. Mosley is fighting Clottey now, a man who troubled Cotto, and if he were to perform impressively, he would surely deserve a rematch with Cotto.

      No he isn't. See here.

And the reason he isn't is that Mosley appears to most boxing experts to have returned to his best form since they fought each other, whereas Cotto appears to most boxing experts to have declined since they fought each other.

like him or not, mosley is one of the top fighters in the division, and any fight he's in will be a good fight, but it's annoying to hear him complain pacquiao, mayweather, and cotto are chasing the "big money" fights, when he himself is doing the same thing. i think the author meant, "go about your business, fight, and quit whining." he wasn't telling him to retire.
"If" that is his point then all I can say is Ok. Shane will not get the money or the credit for beating a Clottey, a Berto or even a Paul Williams.
The only fights that will mean something to his record just happen to be big money fighters.
Maybe he should do a RJJ and offer 60/40 for the winner.

It was a close fight but having a close fight doesn't always mean you deserve an immediate rematch. In that case Clottey would as well.

Mosley however is making a case for himself by beating the man that beat Cotto and now fighting the man that many thought beat Cotto.

Yea I agree with that. Mosley just has to not lose to deserve a rematch.

Problem is his head got too big after the Tony fight. He said fighting Cotto was a step back, and he waited and waited for Pac or Floyd, cause he just wanted to cash out. Now that he got shut out he's calling these same people prima donna's for doing what he was trying to do. That's what makes him a hypocrite and kind of pathetic.

He deserves a pay day for what he's done for the sport, he's the #1 WW in my opinion, and he's a first ballot HOF. But the way he's conducted himself over the past 9 months is really, really sad.

Because he was physically dominated by a man who looked bigger and stronger than him, and only won due to his exceptional skills. Plus he was clearly a lot slower at the weight than he had been at Super Featherweight.

Juan Diaz may be one of the better Lightweights but he's far from being a great fighter - his fight against Malignaggi, in which Malignaggi was robbed (and in which Malignaggi looked at least as physically strong as he did), proved that conclusively. And Casamayor is way past his prime.

yep, clottey deserves a rematch too.

nope, he deserved that rematch a long time ago.

                  he always deserved the rematch.

                  nope, he deserved a payday

in terms of money and popularity, yeah, cotto is a step back compared to pac and floyd.

also in terms of their performances against margo, cotto could be considered a step back.

and he waited and waited for Pac or Floyd, cause he just wanted to cash out.
not cash out, cash in. he deserved it.

Now that he got shut out he's calling these same people prima donna's for doing what he was trying to do.
nah, man mosley deserved a big payday...

That's what makes him a hypocrite and kind of pathetic.
he's not a hypocrit, but it was pathetic of him to chase after pac like jmm.
He deserves a pay day for what he's done for the sport, he's the #1 WW in my opinion, and he's a first ballot HOF. But the way he's conducted himself over the past 9 months is really, really sad.
just the chasing pac like a school girl part.

                    That is your opinion.

Close fights happen all the time though. You can't expect rematches to be given, you've got to force them to happen and that's what Mosley is doing right now.

this article reads like cotto fanmail.. and not a critique of Shane Mosely.
bit disrespectful that cotto name is mentioned all over Mosely's article giving the fact that Mosely been relevant in boxing longer
