I know what a separated shoulder feels like. It's pain that I still to this day experience from 7 years ago. I'm not saying he wasn't bothering him a bit, but that's absolutely NOT why he lost. He lost because he was scared to throw a punch the first 6 rounds and he was almost put on his ass in the 12th until he intentionally headbutted Lopez when he was hurt(something he was trying to do the whole round until he succeeded). Not a Lopez fan because he's become a pos since the win and has done absolutely nothing, but stop making excuses.
I also know how an injured shoulder feels. I had to have surgery to repair it as well. And I'll tell you this, it hurts. And the longer you have that injury, the worse it's going to be. When you first injure it, it hurts, but not so bad that you can't use it. The longer you have that injury, however, the worse it feels. Inflammation starts to set in, and when that happens, the pain increases. This is why he had to have an injection for the pain. Had he not had that injection, he wouldn't have been able to throw anything at all.
[T]he pain is more tolerable, and usually only hurts with certain movements, such as overhead or reaching toward the back. Over time, the symptoms become much worse, and are not relieved by medicines, rest, or exercise.

    MedPlus

[T]ears ... cause immediate, intense shoulder pain and arm weakness. With degenerative tears, you may have mild pain that improves with over-the-counter pain relievers. Over time, the pain gets worse, and pain relievers don't help.

The other problem was that he said he heard it pop or grind after the second round, and that made him try to use it as little as possible, which is why he was doing everything to put himself in a position where he could primarily use his left.

And this thing about Teofimo's power being the reason why he wasn't throwing is nonsense. It was due to Teofimo's boxing skill. Plain and simple. If Teofimo's power had been the issue, we wouldn't have seen Loma getting in the pocket and hitting Teofimo like he did. Teofimo was not tired by that round. He's a 23 year old that barely threw up until then. One punch every 10 seconds for 12 minutes does not tire out a 23-year-old pro boxer. LOL Come on man. It doesn't even tire me out.

He was being honest. The injection helped but sounded as if he could feel the tear worsening when he started throwing.

Yes. It’s still an interesting fight and fans still want to see it. It’s the second best fight at 135 behind Teofimo vs Tank IMO.

Yes. No matter how bad Lomachenkos start was you can't deny that the second half of the fight.

I understand why Teofimos team probably is not too keen on it because the role is reversed now. Lomachenko has nothing to lose amd Teofimo does.

I would say Lomachenko maybe should fight Haney but I don't think Haney is too keen on that either. As shown in Lomachenkos last fight he very much still is a problem when he vets in rhythm.

          Not gonna happen.

Lopez will do all he can to avoid a rematch, and say all that he can to make it look like anything but him being scared.

He came in with all the rah rah about "best fighting the best" but has done nothing, and that fight was forever ago. In fact, the one thing he does is just sit up in an ivory tower and throw shade on everybody else and act big.

I'm not saying he is or isn't a good fighter. But his image is weak now. Maybe he thought he was real and then when he caught a big break suddenly realized he isn't who he thought (as in, all about fighting the best). Or maybe he was just quacking the whole time.

Either way, Loma is going to have to deal with other fighters, and the easiest at the moment is probably Haney. Tank ain't gonna. Is anybody else there worth fighting? I mean, those are the belts right there.

It went bad for Loma. Maybe he should have postponed (if he needed time to heal). Maybe he just should have rumbled from Round 2. But the circumstances of his weight class and the prima donnas in top spots presents a big obstacle for his former plans (and that's if he can really still really excel at this weight).

Interesting take. Personally, it's Davis-Loma first. Big fight for boxing too. I want Davis to get to Loma before the Loma fans say he's a geriatric. Contrast of styles and skills, a war.

I don't care for Lopez-Loma II. No, and thank you.

A year later, Teo is still celebrating the win - because he hasn't put anything in between him and that fight then it's still in the forefront because there is nothing else to remember.

Had he taken a fight or two, I think people may have been more inclined to move on.

So I'd get excited for a rematch, yes.

I'm open to hear him tell us who he wants to fight instead of who he doesn't. Come out and beat Kamboses and gives us some names and remind us what time it is! Been too long

No. I love me some Lomachenko. But he did zero in the fight and that is on him and his team. There was no rematch clause and that was on him and his team. He refused to admit he lost, that is on him.

Lopez won. Straight up and legit. I said it on an earlier thread: You cannot "duck" someone you already beat. If Lopez chooses to walk away from the payday of a rematch, more power to him. There is not "L" on his legacy from this fight.

Yes, us casuals know Lomachenko fought at less than 100%. Either he was good to go and that is no excuse for his inactivity, or he was too injured to fight and they should have postponed with x-ray proof from doctors to back up the fact and let it heal. So if the shoulder is the reason he lost, that is on him and his team. Lopez still owes him nada.

No. Lomachenko removed the rematch caluse himself so for that reason alone their shouldn't be a rematch, thats what Lomachenko wanted no rematches respect his decision.
