I’m really surprised that Triller would pay Holyfield that much for this kind of fight. That’s a hell of a purse for an 8 round fight especially considering they were going to be two minute rounds had there been no stoppage. Evander didn’t even finish one round and probably didn’t have much of a chance to train seriously. He took the fight on one weeks notice. That’s crazy money that he got though. Most fighters will never come close to making that kind of money in their whole careers, never mind a short, casual circus fight like this. I’d be able to survive on 5 million for a lifetime!

Who knows what he actually got. Rafael took a few sprays on Twitter but he was pretty adamant in defending that figure.

Either way, it's a lot of money. Hard to disagree with him taking it, even if I can't stand that Triller and the Florida Commission ever conceived of putting him in there.

Holyfied - Tyson 3 isn't any more likely in 2021 than it was in 2016, or 2011, for that matter. Both guys have been (as best we can tell) basically bankrupt most of that time and really needed the money, but the fight still didn't get made.

Do I want to see Holyfield the senior citizen getting beat up by ****ing yesterday's MMA stars? **** no! But from Holyfield's perspective he got paid and didn't get hurt, so that's all win for him. It didn't even affect his official record. And if some promoter manages to make Holyfield - Tyson 3, it will still make money - nobody will remember this latest circus any more than they remember Tyson - Jones.
