  • Sometimes when I watch Rigo

I can't get my head around why people call certain fights of his boring but last night and I am a mega fan of this guy but that was pathetic.

And its not just Rigo its these opponents, its the sport.
A 3 weight world champion that hasn't a jab or any real faint variety, has no head movement, can't cut a ring off, his gloves are down by his boll0cks for 95% of the 12 rounds, throws the same combination every single time. I don't care if you're Bert Sugar you ain't telling me that ain't one sorry ass excuse for a boxer. This era on the whole is terrible.

Then you have Rigo - You know they're going to rob you if its not convincing so what do you do? You literally run non stop, probing and throwing like 2 punches a round.
You're taking the term just doing enough to another level by literally looking to land one more punch than him to take the round.
The frustrating part is you have a punchbag in there with you.
You're rolling under the left hook, pivoting off you've now created the angle to throw instead you just backpedal across to the other side of the ring. You've got a sitting duck who has practically swung himself into the ropes, he is not defending himself. Hit the bast4rd!

Plant your feet and throw a couple more punches a round at least, is that really asking too much? I don't think at any point he even put two punches together. It was all single shots.

I have no idea why there are so many Floyd comparisons. Floyd might have coasted the odd round here and there but he never fought that gutless in any fight.

There has probably never been anyone ever aged 40 to maintain their legs, their speed, reflexes etc like that like what a waste.

One of the best pure boxers I have ever seen but there is something very wrong mentally. I don't believe he can't pull the trigger he just tried to steal that by taking zero risks. It was like the worlds most drawn out game of tag than a boxing match. Like you just ****ing invented a new sport with that ****. Ultimate tag championship sponsored by Nyquill. I'm sure every insomniac will buy a ticket.

Casimero is fearless, heavy handed and aggressive. He's not terribly skilled. The fights where I've seen him beat decent fighters, it's because he overwhelmed them and clipped them with something.

Rigo has been in some entertaining fights but it's usually because the opponent did something to make it so (one way or another).

Casimero has limited crude skills, I think Rigo felt his power and strength a bit early and determined it was in his best interest to avoid it and outpoint his opponent. I'm sure in his mind, he easily outboxed the Filipino but this time that approach bit him in the a$$ on the judges' cards. I don't think either really deserved to win but I would have given it to Rigo.

This "can't cut the ring off" thing is utter nonsense to me.

You can’t really blame Casimero when Rigo wasn’t looking to engage. Yeah he could have gut the ring off better but Rigo’s footwork is that good, I don’t think it would have made much difference.

What frustrated me most is even at 40 Rigo could have beaten Casimero easily. He was landing clean shots whenever he committed to his punches, yet his passive and negative tactics cost him the fight. I had it 115-113 Rigo but I can easily see why people would have scored the fight to Casimero.

Agree. With Rigo running with his back against Casi, how can Casi even punch legally? That kind of fighting should be penalized.

I agree. Casimero is a wild swinging bum and every time Rigo made him miss, there were opportunities to counter but he wouldn't and when he did land, you could see Casimero back off and become hesitant

Both are terrible though. **** fighters

Rigo got scared after he felt Casimero's power in the 1st round and didn't want anything to do with it.

And people don't understand that cutting the ring off is not as easy as it looks especially against a masterful defensive boxer like Rigo.

Casimero tried his best to bring the fight with his limited skills but Rigo decided he didn't want to fight that last night.

Casimiero is still barely a name and expected to be able to cut the ring off with a sweet science veteran who is hell-bent on not getting trapped. Sometimes some fans make me shake my head uncontrollably. Aren't you even thinking?
