And Ortiz didn't even have his head trainer in there tonight.

Yep, but Ortiz adjusted after being hurt and showed new dimensions. He's the real deal, just has to learn not to load up on all his shots and honestly I think he realized that mid-fight.

I'd love to see him vs. Thurman, but it's a pipe dream. It's very possible that he'd stop Thurman to the body.

I didn't like the more disciplined showing from Ortiz. I just don't think it was required or the fight for it.

Its his intensity that is the problem for these guys. Everytime Ortiz upped the pace and threw caution to the wind a little Kava looked weary as hell but Ortiz wasn't sustaining it as he normally would because RG wanted him to box.

Good performance and gets him rounds just don't believe in letting a puncher hang around in there when you can get him out at will

This goes to show that Terrence Crawford was never and is not the #1 p4p . Mean machine dropped Crawford just like he dropped Vergil Ortiz and mean machine got knocked out by both Crawford and Vergil Ortiz. The only difference is that ignorants had Crawford as the “#1 p4p” and Vergil Ortiz is not even top 10 p4p.

I'm actually glad he didn't go Terminator on Kava. The sooner he learns to harness all his youthful energy, the better. He gradually broke Kava down and then went for the kill. Crawford really needs to face Ortiz sooner rather than later. Ortiz is becoming more dangerous with each bout.

What a fight, Ortiz impressed. Kava had his moments, I think he is one of the gatekeepers of the division, he is a real test for any up and comer.

I was surprised that Ortiz fought so disciplined and stuck with a gameplan. He never wavered.

His power is always going to be there but he showed tonight he has other dimensions from behind which he can launch that power.
