What sham? Is this the first big fight that ever got postponed due to injury?

Good! The injury doesn't sound as bad as it previously did. It's only a retinal tear. So he should be able seal that tear with laser treatment and make a full recovery in less than two weeks and resume his boxing career. Thank God! I know that Pac has to get paid but I wish that they could postpone this fight to a later date this year; if Manny Pacquiao agrees.

Perhaps, you should ask that question to Al Haymon. He should postpone this card and push it back to a later date this year. However, he can't because he isn't a promoter. He doesn't have any promotional insurance to cover all of the losses and damages he would incur in the event that the card was postponed or canceled.

Could be bc of higher covid infection rates in Nevada. People are required to wear masks inside and there might be more restrictions that will be implemented

No, he'll be fine. It's only a retinal tear and they detected it early. He should be able to resume his boxing career because it usually takes only about two weeks before the laser treatment to seal the tear and after that he would be good to go.

Pacquiao is 42 and hasn't fought for over 2 years. He's been active for far too long and his camp is pretty much finished, postponement isn't an option. If anything this is a blessing for Pac, he can shake off the rust in a tricky fight with Ugas, and the playing field will be more even when Spence is ready.

That retina injury is an alibi to get out of the fight. Kell Brook has it..

Spence doesn't have that issue.. Suddenly pops out of nowhere close to the fight. That's shady AF!

                  They predicting a full recovery.

Fact is, Spence is done. His career is essentially over.

No, it's different. Abner Mares had a detached retina. He was fighting with a detached retina for several years and never had it surgically repaired. Which cost him vision loss in his eye and subsequently ended his boxing career. Spence on the other hand just has a retinal tear which requires only two weeks of laser treatments and then he can successfully resume his boxing career again.

There is no conspiracy here, Spence has a retina tear and needs surgery. No way he would be getting surgery on a healthy eye; he is injured, simple as that. He wanted this fight and will want to reschedule, assuming Ugas doesn't alter the plans.
