This is not a sham. Haymon doesn't have a promoter's insurance which is why the card can't be postponed and must go on or else he loses Millions of dollars in lost revenue that he won't be able to recover. It would be a total financial loss if he were to postpone this card.

No doubt he will! I was really looking forward to that Manny Pacquiao fight though. Hopefully, after Pac defeats Ugas he retires and let Erroll Spence fight him as a tuneup before he fights Terence Crawford next.

Spence has never pulled out a fight before, and now for the huge showcase fight of his career, most unfortunate. Then again, he could've taken some damage in the fight.

A very bad year for boxing. Sorry, not excited to see Ugas, but it's a great opportunity for him nevertheless.

Pacquiao is 42 and hasn't fought for over 2 years. He's been active for far too long and his camp is pretty much finished, postponement isn't an option. If anything this is a blessing for Pac, he can shake off the rust in a tricky fight with Ugas, and the playing field will be more even when Spence is ready.

You are right and I agree. Pac doesn't have much time left and he has to make the most out of these moments the best way that he can. I am not blaming him for not wanting to postpone the fight. He has to get paid because he has put in a lot of hard work for this camp.

Perhaps, you should ask that question to Al Haymon. He should postpone this card and push it back to a later date this year. However, he can't because he isn't a promoter. He doesn't have any promotional insurance to cover all of the losses and damages he would incur in the event that the card was postponed or canceled.

TBP or whoever the "promoter of record" is would have obtained the Event Cancellation Insurance, and they could absolutely recover losses and damages.

Edit: And Cancellation Insurance NEVER covers potential profit. It only covers actual expense paid. So Haymon wouldnt lose a dime.
