    - Footwork
    - Hand speed
    - Quickness
    - Defense
    - Awareness
    - Punching Power
    - Accuracy

Canelo biggest attribute is that he is brutally strong like a mini war tank. Also has equally punching power, he's fast but just a decent skill set. If he face the real deal competition then he won't look that dominant.
    Not at all.

Canelo can box multiple ways. Pacquiao only knows one way.

Canelo doesn't even have to move to control the ring. Canelo truthfully is a plodder, rarely moves his feet and walks the ring as if he is a Muay Thai fighter but his gravity is so intense that opponents get ****** in and beat down. But Canelo doesn't even pressure like a Margarito or GGG. He literally just stands plods forward and connects deep punches.

Pacquiao on the other hand has to attack like tsunami wave to control the ring. Constant pressure, constant battering. When Pacquiao doesn't do that, he typically loses rounds. Doesn't take away from Pacquiao's greatness but it shows that if Pacquiao isn't doing that kind of waves against a beach- like attack. He's just not in it.

I don't even think Pacquiao's ring IQ is that great. It's more that his opponents generally lack it. Then when he fights someone with good to great Ring IQ, he typically struggles (Bradley) or loses (Mayweather, Marquez 4). Even Broner had moments against Pacquiao where his pure skill surpassed Pacquiao's.

Marquez only beat Pacquiao because Pacquiao fights the exact same way as he did from the trilogy days. Marquez improved after Mayweather and clattered him with his adaptations to boxing. Double hop; he intercepted the first hop and put him to sleep.

Even Bradley alluded to the same thing. Pacquiao does a double hop and Bradley exploited it. Suggested Spence to do the same. Intercept that double hop to win. Pacquiao still hasn't changed it.

Pacquiao has good awareness but he's not Canelo's level either. Canelo utilizes a really unique and quite dangerous technique that requires an intense amount of awareness to pull off. Rolling with the punches. Anyone else tries that and its lights out.

He's also much more difficult to hit than Pacquiao. Pacquiao generally just overwhelms opponents so he doesn't face a lot. Canelo on the other hand, if you aren't picture perfect, you really aren't effective against him.

The only people who caused him problems are Lara and Mayweather. two guys with better footwork and never giving Canelo the same look twice.

Pacquiao only has hand speed and footwork over Canelo, undoubtedly.

Anything else, I'd differ at various degrees of greatness that Canelo is better. Nobody in the game is really close to Canelo in terms of skill in boxing. Active, not retired.

      Caleb Plant
      Inoue
      Spence

are 3 boxers I'd say are more skilled than Pac.
      Caleb Plant?

      GTFOH.

Nice. Please tell me at this moment, where you rank Canelo in the ATG list and where you rank Pacquiao. Said that, if Pacquiao has lesser skills than Canelo, then he should be using blak magic to rank highest in that list.

          Why?

Is skill and greatness mutually exclusive?

Pac is a dynamic fighter with a lot of experience. He has foot and leg speed that is above most. Canelo ring IQ is very high, throughout the fight you can see how is is slowing setting up the onslaught or moving the fighter into the position he wants. That is world class and it don't matter the size of the fighter.

so only 2 fighters that manny struggle with then... and those 2 names are pretty high up there... but your logic is flaw... every fighters has his match... pac's was marquez... that doesnt mean marquez is more skilled than manny.. going by your logic, floyd also had a hard time/struggle with some lesser opponents that likes to pressure (maidana).. does that mean chino has a better ring iq than floyd? DUMMY!

Caleb Plant will beat Canelo and you’ll come back and see that I’m right

                    I highly doubt it tbh.

I do rate Plant but he’s not skilled enough to be in the conversation for most skilled fighter in the sport. Athletic dude, fast hands and feet, good timing but not a pure technician like a Chocolatito, Canelo or Rigo. He doesn’t even sit down on his punches at times which is boxing 101 and he also wastes a lot with all the movement too.

Plant also makes some fundamental mistakes, perhaps most notably bringing the left hand back low after he throws a straight right or hook, which leaves him open to the right hand counter. That’ll be the shot Canelo times him with if/when they fight. He’s still a good fighter though, I’m not trying to hate on the guy or nothing.

I quite like Plant and I hope he does beat Canelo, however, I just can’t see it. It’s a case of levels IMO.

Alvarez is great but hasn’t won big fights as convincingly as manny has

Crawford is cute in the ring but hasn’t beat many real ones
His timing has always been excellent. Even when he was throwing crazy fast combinations they were usually all correctly delivered and well timed shots. Excellent footwork also.

Most skilled in the sport? For me nah. He’s obviously in that top tier but for me four guys stand out and that’s Lomachenko, Roman Gonzalez, Canelo and Rigondeaux. Mainly because they do everything correctly. They rarely waste anything in regard to punch output and wasted movement. Every shot is thrown correctly in terms of positioning, placement etc.

I’d probably say the #1 spot belongs to Canelo or Rigo. I think they’re both so technically on point with everything. IMO…
