The side discussion that I was replying to was referring between Canelo and Pacquiao. Not a statement just about Pacquiao as a boxer.

Pacquiao is skilled, one of the most skilled boxers active today.

Pacquiao just isn't at Canelo's level of all around skill. He's not. Canelo is at the top of the pyramid for skill in this current moment of boxing.

Years ago many people myself included thought manny was mostly athleticism

then as an old man he beat Thurman which further legitimized his skills

Alvarez is great but hasn’t won big fights as convincingly as manny has

Crawford is cute in the ring but hasn’t beat many real ones

There are lots of skilled fighters out there like Loma, Bivol, and Josh Taylor, just to name a few

Canelo's great but can be outboxed.

Manny has always had much more to his game than just pure athleticism, he's an adjuster and he'll break down his foes given the chance.

Bud Crawford is special, he has that Roberto Duran X-Factor where he knows how to figure an opponent out and adapt accordingly. Bud has those subtleties and nuances to his game that can't be taught in the gym similar to Duran.
