Look I'm a Canelo fan also, but you guys are out of your mind. Just say he's using this as a negotiation ploy and move on. Demanding $40 million for any late replacement is obviously a non starter.

Hard to know though, PBC's offer might have been $40M or whatever to fight Plant on their platform, or no fight at all. Canelo could be taking a pay cut just to get the undisputed, pretty sure he would make more with the GGG trilogy if money was the only concern.

The ideal situation is an agreed split between fighters, then highest platform bidder gets the fight, like a purse bid. One can dream.

In regards to Canelo's demands, if this is true, it does seem a little over the top to demand full fare, I can see where he is coming from though, after the issues with GBP screwing his schedule, watching the ongoing Fury v Wilder debacle I can see the rationale for wanting a damages clause of some type personally.

look i like canelo. i think plant is an untalented tard

but how the **** can the promoters and networks meet canelo's demand here? how can they front up the same purse money regardless of the opponent and in the event its not plant but some last minute scrub or someone from the undercard? The only realistic way to do that is have a top notch guy from the undercard that could fill in.

And especially with this covid bullchit and even vaccinated testing positive, there is no way they cant guarantee that plant doesnt get covid before the fight.
