The style matchup is in Crawford’s favor actually. Porter likes to swing wide but poses little danger in hurting Crawford, Crawford excels in exchanges. Crawford knows how to ride with your punches while throwing his own behind them, Porter fights squared and relies on ducking down.
Thurman always turns into a mover after about 4 rd’s, but early he’s always trying to jump on guys and exchanging, he nearly dropped Porter tiwce early in that fight, and had Danny GARSH swimming in the ring early, (got ***ed up by Pacquiao using this tactic, Pac is the king of exchanges). That’s what this fight entails for Porter. Lots of in-close exchanges and Crawford may not hit quite as hard as Thurman but he’ll be more aggressive for longer.
You may be right but one thing is for sure, Porter has no quit, he's nearly impossible to stop and he'll force a tough, tough fight for all 12 rounds. There is no easy outing...
My ONLY problem with this match-up is that Terrance Crawford and Shawn Porter are two of my favorite people. I like both guys.....both can't win
Porter is no KO artist so he's not the one to KO Crawford. This fight will go exactly how 95% of knowledgeable fans see it. Crawford winning a competitive but clear UD.
If Crawford is truly planning on leaving Top Rank when the contract is up in October, then this could be a HUGE win for Arum.
Most promotional contracts have clauses in them regarding purse bids. As long as the promoter makes a "good faith effort" to win the bid, even if he loses the bid he would still be entitled to receive typically between 15% and 25% of his fighters purse, without any financial responsibility for the fight. So just for the sake of the argument, lets say PBC wins the bid at $5 million. Crawfords take would be $3 million, of which Arum would get upwards of $600k without having any obligations.
Might be the first time Bob ever made a buck on a Crawford fight. lol
