... but our boxing history had more records of boxers going up in weight and getting KTFO in their first bout up north. Corrales (RIP) is a prime example, and I'm sure a bunch of posters here can help me out to rattle more names, I'm so buzzed right now, TGIF!!!

      WRONG...

The contract stipulates that the rematch, or if ever, the rubber match (which did happen) will happen at the same weight division where they first fought in, the super featherweight division. Erik begged, Roach declined.

      True story...

why are u so critical of manny? if your critical of floyd for taking on the smaller man, you should be critical of COTTO because he is fighting the smaller man in this fight, he HAS all the advantages in size and strength and yet your critical of manny because he made cotto come down 1 freaking pound from his last fight, your a damn hater dude

WTF! if your so critical of cotto losing all that weight, then why not let him fight where he will be comfortable in losing all those weight, like junior middle(154lbs). he should not be fighting in welterweight if he is having trouble losing weight. ur an idiot hater.

Yeeeeeees, at last someone said it. People should not be critical of Pac they should be critical of Cotto the same way they're critical of Mayweather and not Marquez.
Pac and Marquez are the same size so why can't people give Pac the props and criticize Cotto the same way they're doing on the Mayweather-Marquez fight.

Having to lose 1 more pound once you're already dehydrated is very hard. But it won't affect him as bad as everyone seems to think. Pac is not moving up 7 pound he is fighting close to his normal weight.

That's were i beleive all the complaining for the catchweight all started and I admit I was one of them, not becasue of the catchweight but because of forcing the title on the line at a catchweight.

However that's water under the bridge and Cotto had a price and was bought in that case so all we can do now is stop complaning, sit back and enjoy the fight.
nobody was forcing anybody here in this fight, cotto wants more money thats it, dont make cotto a martyr like he is standing up for some biger cause, he just wants more money, now did u hear cotto complaining about the belt on the line? NO. because he got more money.
