    No?

Pacquiao had 1 fight at 135, so he's basically have to bulked up 17 pounds to fight Oscar at a "meet weight", while Oscar has to cut 7 pounds to make this fight a bit believable to both the casual and the avid boxing fans. Oscar set the meet weight, NOT Pacquiao. It was still branded as a circus freak show by most, with Oscar being the unexpected freak show...

Just like what he did against the Hatton fight. It's all about the big money fights for Pacman from hereon in, he did his time and it's about time he enjoyed the fruits of his labor. He doesn't mind if his future fights gets riskier, as long as it pays well, he only have 3 fights left at the most...

        Thank you.

Go check BOXREC.COM. And please, next time don't SWEAR on something you absolutely have no knowledge about. Else you might get branded as an idiot.

Wouldn't you want to see the best version of Miguel?

Same thing applies to your question, wouldn't you want to see the best version of Pacman? And Cotto at the same time? a 145 fight is the best compromise for both sides. Cotto doesn't mind, and he said it wouldn't affect him, so why does it affect you?

There has been some concern from Pacquiao's trainer Freddie Roach because his fighter has not begun his training as of yet. [details]

I think they are being generous with Cotto's walk around weight more like 170.

He is just a bitter JMM stan because his fiancee's notable wins are over overrated Juan Diaz who almost quit against Nate and got schooled by Paulie and old and shot Casamayor

Yes. oscar's team mismanaged the weight process. But Oscar hadn't made even the 147 limit in 8 or 9 years. That is essentially like asking Pac to fight Gamboa at 130 (or below) in his next fight.

There were a lot of precedents among the elites of boxing in the past that was fought at a catch weight. The most recent was between Hopkins and De La Hoya for the unified middleweight titles ( WBA, WBC, WBO and IBF) at 158. The Whitaker-Julio Cesar Chavez fight was for the WBC's welterweight diadem at 145. Notice the last example I gave is parallel to the Pacquiao-Cotto fight at 145, but nobody said nothing then? Do you want some more high profile catch weight fights?

Sugar Ray Leonard fought Donny Lalonde for the WBC's light heavyweight title at 168, Leonard-Hearns II was for the WBO's super middleweight
title at 163, The Terry Norris-Meldrick Taylor fight was for the WBC's Jr. middleweight title at 150, and the Whitaker-Julio Cesar Chavez fight was for the WBC's welterweight diadem at 145.

There's nothing new here, the catch weight fight has been done before except there were a lot less jealous fans back then, not unlike today's fans, who are still butthurt because their favorite boxer/s, or their countrymen got their azz handed to him by Pacman...

Pacho Villa, a 5'1" pinoy flyweight world champion during the 1920's fought Jimmy McLarnin in a non title bout at a catch weight. Jimmy McLarnin eventually became a world welterweight champion.

To all those who doesn't knows Cotto definitely the bigger man. All you have to do is look on their last fight at welterweight. Pac weighed in 148 while Cotto's mostly 160 above.

This definitely looks like a mismatch, Cotto should have fought Pac at 140lbs. For the JRWW title.
Cotto needs Pac, Pac doesn't need Cotto.
