Wouldn't you want to see the best version of Miguel?
Why would you wanna see a slower pacquiao when thats his ONLY advantage in the fight? this is more than meeting halfway in cottos favor

I don't know why people struggle with this. I do NOT want to see a slower Pac. Nor did I say that.

Pacquiao weighed in at 142 for the Oscar fight at 147. Mayweather weighed in at 150 for the Oscar fight at 154. You are not required to bulk up. The weight limit is a "limit". If you think that staying smaller and faster is your advantage, then have at it.

Why can't Pac be 143/144, and Cotto be 147? Does that constitute a mismatch? Pac retains his advantages, and Cotto retains his. That way, I get to see the best of BOTH guys.

          Ten pounds is nothing.

          The better fighter will win.

Normally the advantage goes to the bigger fighter, in this case it does too. Why are there people crying about 2lbs? Manny is still moving up 5.
He's not moving up though really... he's been blowing up to 144-146 on fight day since before delahoya so this is just his fit weight. Alot of fighters do this though the only thing that makes me think its sketchy is that cotto put his WW belt on the line in a "catch-weight" bout

It's very simple. The size and weight advantage would be too much. Cotto is content with 145. It's like you think 10+lbs doesn't make a difference come fight night. And if 1lb seperates how good Cotto truly is (when he's weighed 146 before) then it doesn't reflect favourably about his skills and he should go up to 154 division.

If 10 lbs is nothing then why are there weight divisions?

Cotto doing down 1 lbs isn't going to make or break the fight.

                      There's too many weight divisions.

The reason is greed, not safety.
