Is it a KO? or Not?

10 secs have elapsed since the fighter went down. Is refs count slow?

    Kindly explain.

    JMM is down at :44

JMM is still down at :34

No it isn't. The referee is there counting in front of the fighter, so the fighter is fixated on the refs count.

He might have started counting when his body hit the canvas, not his glove. He should have started counting when his glove touched though. That could be a reason.

Fighters listen to the refs count for a reason. They do not have a timer buit inside them.

No. I guess it coulda been, but no point arguin about it. As counted by the ref, JMM was ready in time. I never thought to question this.

If I remember correctly... which I'm not sure if this is right since I haven't seen the fight in ages but Pacquiao wouldn't stay in his corner therefor he delayed the count right?
If a fighter isn't in a neutral corner then the ref doesn't start counting until he is.

Tarvers KO of Roy and KT over Judah looks very fast. I even think Roy could have beat the count. but that looks so much faster than this one.

what i want to know is how should the ref count it? a regular 10 secs can be a count of 8 or a count of 12 for a referee. whats the rule? its all on the ref's discretion?
