Wait a second there Buddy this is what you said when the Wallin fight was announced .
“Embarrassing. I hoped he would fight Martin level opponent at least”
“Its sad Fury fights so low level opposition”
Martin was clearly below Wallin and the forum was crying for the Martin fight instead . Ha
Its neither here or there but it’s a common problem with this forum until after the fact .Last edited by REDEEMER; 07-14-2021, 04:22 PM.Comment

I don't think he can beat AJ (he didn't in the amateurs), we saw where he was at against Fury and I'm not sure he can avoid a Wilder bomb over the course of 12 rounds (if he can he outboxes him). I do think he's shown enough to be competitive against the next tier (Parker, Ortiz, Ruiz, Whyte, etc) and maybe beat a few of them.

Read what I just wrote.
The problem with that stance is, many of those same cats in here screamed at the time that Fury was fighting a bum (and ducking Wilder).
You can't have it both ways.
Either
(A) Wallin is a bum, thus he should NOT have any chance against Ruiz. OR
(B) Wallin is not a bum, thus he's a good win for Tyson Fury.
Pick one. It can't be both.Comment

99% of the thread has basically decided that Andy Ruiz is second tier to Otto F'n Wallin.
Read what I just wrote.

Wallin had a very solid amateur career but prior to the Fury fight he hadn't fought anyone of note for fans to guage where he was at. He gave Fury a compelling fight in which a cut caused by a punch and Wallin's efforts injected some drama. After that he defeated a shopworn Kaufman and outclassed Breazeale.
Ruiz came into his rematch with AJ bloated and lethargic and looked very pedestrian against Arreola.
Fighters' stocks rise and fall based on performances and those saying that they favor Wallin to beat Ruiz base that on what we know (or think we know) at that particular moment. It may not be that we think Wallin is a world beater so much as Ruiz has regressed.Comment
