I will say this, someone could have been disappointed in the selection of Wallin as a Fury opponent and still think that he will beat Ruiz. The reason why is because the perception of both fights have changed between then and now.

Wallin had a very solid amateur career but prior to the Fury fight he hadn't fought anyone of note for fans to guage where he was at. He gave Fury a compelling fight in which a cut caused by a punch and Wallin's efforts injected some drama. After that he defeated a shopworn Kaufman and outclassed Breazeale.

Ruiz came into his rematch with AJ bloated and lethargic and looked very pedestrian against Arreola.

Fighters' stocks rise and fall based on performances and those saying that they favor Wallin to beat Ruiz base that on what we know (or think we know) at that particular moment. It may not be that we think Wallin is a world beater so much as Ruiz has regressed.
Ok, but then in a separate thread yesterday and today, people swear up and down that Ruiz wrecks Wilder - a guy who's only ever lost to one man out of damn near 50 fights.

Threads this month talking that Manny stops Spence despite the fact that Manny struggled with Horn - however you slice the outcome - and couldn't stop Vargas, Broner, Algieri (who Spence stopped), or Keef. Meanwhile Spence is undefeated, hasn't been dropped and barely been hurt by ONE man, over a decade ago. All because Spence pitched a 12-0 shutout against Mikey while weight drained instead of stopping him.

People still saying Paulie beats McGregor despite Paulie being completely unable to even move Sam Eggington with flush shots and taking an L to an MMA guy with a negative record.

Do you see what I'm saying? That's my problem. We're crediting the wrong fighters for the wrong *ish and discrediting other fighters for unreasonable *ish.

I get it and don't disagree but it's NSB...and you have all sorts of posters and not all of them particularly rational. You have people who only comment on one fighter and only with complete bias in favor or against that one fighter. You have people who seem to exclusively root for a particular prompter or network. There are alot of irrational and bad takes but there are also good ones as well.

I don't think Ruiz beats Wilder and I don't think Pac turns back the clock and beats Spence but I'm willing to listen to their opinion to see if it's well formed. Just because A beats B and B beats C doesn't guarantee A beats C. Styles make fights and there are too many variables in this sport...its one of the reasons I don't like arguing ATG, Mythical Matchups or P4P...there's no right or wrong that can be proved. Luckily for you and me, there's nothing mythical about Pac and Spence; we will learn what happens in about a months time.

Poor Luis Ortiz. No one wants to fight him even his fellow in-house PBC fighters.
Is Charles Martin avoiding the Cuban heavyweight too? Where TF is he?

“You’ll have many guys that had opportunities to have a chance at me, to be mandatories. All they had to do was face Luis Ortiz. But their excuse was he’s old. And in my eyes, I’m like, ‘S**t, he in the sport. We signed up for it, so beat his old ass then.’ But they never give him the opportunity because they know what the real is.
