I grew up a half Brazilian half English kid in Toxteth in the aftermath of the race riots that had tore the area apart. I worked hard, done well at school, got a well paid job, started my own businesses. I was never held back by “the system” or anything like that. Yeah I faced a few racist incidents as a kid but that’s not my problem, that’s the racist problem, they aren’t gonna stop me doing what I want to do. My point is there isn’t some oppressive system against blacks, foreigners etc anymore, legally we have the same constitutional freedom that any other race have.
It’s just far easier for people to blame the system rather than having a long hard look in the mirror.

It doesn't matter how educated you are, famous you are, rich you are or even marry and live in the same neighborhood as the dominant culture; You shall always stand out and never be able to assimilate within that culture.

American is the land of opportunity. So, I wasn't speaking about the economic freedoms. I was referring to the political freedoms. Many migrants have come to Britain and the U.S. and became highly economically successful. Yet they are still not part of the dominant culture and shall never be.

My objection to Wilder taking a stance on anything is not based on his race, his perceptions of race, nor his celebration of his culture. It's simply because each time I watch or read his interviews I am struck but his utter lack of mastery of the English language and the concept of grammar. For his own benefit, he should speak publicly with that right hand and not much else in my own opinion, and perhaps privately he can speak to kids.
