But Floyd does have defeats according to boxing fans who saw Floyd fight. Floyd is harder to hit and has a different approach to fighting but isn't more skilled, just a different skill set, but he hasn't got more ability than PAC. Look at what jmm says about best he's fought. Jmm clearly thinks PACs got more ability and the proof and evidence is in the superior resume. Just like Hopkins over calzaghe
Who proved superior skill over Marquez, PAC or FLOYD?

I gave Canelo four rounds in the Floyd fight. People gravitate to cards too much. Byrd nor Ross had any weight for the outcome since there’s always two better judges. Same as not focusing on cards from Wilder vs Fury 1.
I take context into consideration. Now Floyd was too fast and slick for Canelo and looked better throughout the fight, but we need to keep the point system fair and the 4 criteria.
I see it like this. Both Floyd and Canelo were unifying. It means we have to give Canelo benefit of doubt as a CHAMPION for his style against Floyd, not just focus on size…
Round 1: Canelo starts off late, but we can see the power engager and landed on Floyd past first half of Round1. Canelo was rolling back shots to his body (jabs) from Floyd. Floyd was landing against Canelo 2:1 until Canelo did a massive power shot that stumbled Floyd off his feet. Canelo didn’t miss. Whatever Floyd that had him stumble from Canelo’s power is effective aggression from the Mexican. Canelo then started landing more. We close the round and it’s up to which shot was the most meaningful. Ross gave it to Canelo I agree.
then Round 2: Canelo tags Floyd twice in at close range. It’s obvious it’s a chess match so far and Canelo looks sharp, even commentary is impressive. Again, those precise punches from Canelo which hadn’t been done in a while to Floyd, one could give it to Canelo, as Metcalfe did.
the rest Floyd turned it up with too much activity 4:1. I gave Canelo a couple more rounds in the finals since Floyd slowed down and just fleeing while Canelo landing to the body / arms on Floyd. You gotta give it to the Champ too, not just Floyd. Floyd didn’t mind losing later rounds because he knew he was up on the cards. Judges, fans, know that. Hence the saying “only way to win at this point is by KO.”
So Canelo didn’t lose to a complete shutout. That’s ridiculous. Lol. It’s because Showtime over exaggerated their house fighter by design. If Floyd signed a multi deal you’re not going to go against him. That defeats the purpose of the signing. Raunallo was paid to hype their house fighter, as he did in MMA… cheesy at times like Joe Tessitore on ESPN. Same thing.Last edited by Thuglife Nelo; 07-06-2021, 05:43 AM.Comment

You idiot lol this was before he fought Mayweather lol and you thought haha I got them lol Manny fans are the world champions for shooting themselves in the foot lol, they got no brains and miss seeing 90% of the information lol. You did see the video of JMM actually talking didn't you lol.Marquez himself would be the only one who could answer this.
Luckily, he has:
https://www.ringtv.com/508347-best-f...anuel-marquez/
Marquez agreed to speak about the best fighters he fought in 10 categories:
BEST JAB
Marco Antonio Barrera: When you want to dodge a jab using speed, you must calculate it. That is what I did with him. I tried to guess where his punches were going and then counterpunch and decrease their accuracy.
BEST CHIN
Manny Pacquiao: He took a good shot and he always returned stronger.
FASTEST HANDS
Pacquiao: He has a lot of power and speed.
FASTEST FEET
Pacquiao: He is always everywhere. He is a tough fighter.
SMARTEST
Sergey Fedchenko: The Ukrainian fighter, no one knew him. He had a great counterpunching (style), speed and a great jab. He was very intelligent also. Manuel “Mantecas” Medina was also very smart.
STRONGEST
Pacquiao: When he fought, he moved his hips a lot. Then I analyzed that all his power came from there, in the hips. I understood that he couldn’t do his power moves and he would have problems if I used speed so I started fighting different.
BEST PUNCHER
Pacquiao: In all the fights I had, nobody hit me harder than him.
BEST DEFENSE
Pacquiao: He is great at closing his defense, he has a good guard and it is very hard to land (a clean punch). After four fights with him, I was able to know him better. I also learned his mistakes. Fedchenko also had great defense.
BEST SKILLS
Juan Diaz: Juan has a lot of speed. He was aggressive and elusive. On the other hand, Joel (Casamayor) was great with the distance and he was a brilliant fighter.
BEST OVERALL
Pacquiao: Without doubt, the best pound-for-pound of his time and I faced him at his best.
No mention of Floyd - I think marquez has no respect for floyd because of the catch weight and coming in over the agreed limit. (Floyd had to pay marquez almost a million if i remember right - similar to how he pays to win most of his fights).Comment

Fck me you think the article is not going to mention losing to Floyd if it happened after the Floyd fight , how dumb are you, it first appeared in 2014 it was quoted by JMM pre-2009
, how about we bet if Im right you leave if your right name whatever you like, common sense should tell you its pre-Floyd but Im positive you haven't got any.
See this link where it says 2007, see where it goes.

The article itself if you click on it says: Editor’s Note: This feature originally appeared in the August 2016 issue of The Ring Magazine.
Prior to answering the questions, there is a summary of marquez' entire career, including his fights with floyd.
If you are trying to suggest that marquez gave this interview before fighting floyd, then why did he answer fedchenko (who he fought in 2012) as the smartest he faced?
it would appear that you are the one with impaired comprehension.

Ok we understand you pedestalize mediocrity, but you didn't answer the question of what is so special about Marquez at ww other than him losing to Manny 2x beating him 1x and Floyd needing to drag him up two weight classes and needing every conceivable advantage to get a lopsided points win on him.
I doubt if Juan Marquez cracks top 20 all time at ww and you talking like Floyd did some extraordinary s##t or pulled off some major upset.Comment
