I don't know, I mean Ortiz is tough and has been busting everybody up, but I think he's going too fast up the ladder. It may not be this fight, but someone soon will put him out, just not convinced...

Should be nice matchup, Mean Machine has his limitations (outboxed largely by Ray Robinson and Zewski) but he is very tough, aggressive and has some pop.

Ortiz will probably methodically break him down but it won't be a walk in the park and he will have to show discipline and be careful in the process.

Really solid step up for vergil. Vergil KO mid rounds.

Donaire vs. Casimero on Saturday, and I'll watch Ortiz Jr. vs. Mean Machine on Sunday morning!

He won't see Spence @ 147! Neither will Boots! They'll have to catch Spence @ 154! Boots vs. Vergil @ 147 should be a great one...if they make it happen!

I might end up doing the same if I have to choose between the two cards.

Holy **** I really hope this one gets done successfully. Those two fights in one card are top-tier material.

Robert knows every flaw of MM and knows his training. Then there is the fact Robert is a way better trainer than Marco. Robert gave Marco the head training job in Oxnard when Egis Klimas took over the gym, Marco got a big a$$ stable of world class talent and all the fighters left him except Mm.
MM gases after 5 rounds, can’t fight going backwards, can’t take body punches, drops his left predictably and has lead feet, Robert knows this plus his training. MM was getting beat by a C fighter who didn’t train well because Canada COVID lockdown, in his last fight but was fortunate to land a ko punch. MM gets ko’ed in 5 by Ortiz. I am surprised MM trusts that Marco isn’t compromised by his friendship with Robert.
No one left Marcos and its not like Robert Can just hand over fighters, lol it's not how it works.

Egis bought that gym from Robert Garcia because all those Easter European fighters made Oxnard and Robert Garcia gym their own, That's where even Lomachenko was training out of.

So when Egis bought the gym, (it's a huge ass gym) Marcos and everyone stayed cause Oxnard is where they lived and they made the best of the situation. Some fighters decided to take Marcos as their trainer and others didn't. Some even left the gym, because its a Easter Euro gym now when before it was a Mexican gym so of course your comfort level changed etc when you joined because it was a Mexican gym and now it's a euro gym and you don't understand the language.

About not trusting Marcos and Robert Garcia friendship, Mean Machines knows Robert is a man of integrity, I recall a time when back in the Oxnard gym a knucklehead who used to hang around was able to get into another fighters camp and said he would secretly record their sparring etc. and Robert kicked him out of the gym for even suggesting that. Also another incident where the Argentinians were basically doing that same thing to him and Brandon Rios is why at one point all the Argentinians used to train with Robert and in a blink of an eye they weren't cause Robert kicked them all out for doing shady stuff like telling inside secrets to other fighters, so Brandon could lose.

So Mean Machine knows Robert and Marcos dont roll like that and are all intregrity.

he fought really well against Bud until the leg gave out on him. He wasn’t winning but he was definitely holding his own for 3/4 of the fight. If he could get that leg in check I would have loved to see him mix it up with a lot of the guys out here
His brother just said in an interview that he is fighting on the undercard of his fight against Uzcategui
