Quit acting like Nakatani is good ffs

I just don't like the retroactive upgrading I've been seeing of Nakatani. Nobody cared about him when Lopez fought him and the takeaway the night he fought Teofimo was Teo didn't look good, not that Nakatani was good. Then he beat the failed prospect Felix Verdejo who lost the same way to a journeyman. There's stuff I like about the guy and I think it's a respectable fight for Loma, especially coming off a loss but this guy got blown out of proportion massively.I'd get if people said Naktani is big, has an engine and like all Japanese fighters seems to be made of steel and it was a decent enough tune up considering Loma hasn't fought in a while and had surgery.
My issue is people acting like he is a really good fighter all of a sudden.
If people said it when he gave Lopez a gut check or directly after beating Verdejo that he maybe underrated or so, I'd get it but it just seems to me like previous opponents of Loma's he is getting elevated in order to merit the hype they have placed on Loma.
If say Crawford or Floyd or someone else was fighting this type of opponent, nobody would say it was anything other than a horrendous mismatch & give them no credit.
To me, from where I am sat its double standards.
If Crawford fights someone like this I call it for what it is & I'll do the same with Loma or anyone else I class as an elite fighter taking on this sort of opposition. Its not good enough.Comment

I don't dislike Loma, he's a really good fighter but for me he's overrated and gets passes. His opposition gets incredibly hyped just so they can justify the hype they have created.
We can't seriously pretend Luke Campbell, Pedraza even Linares are elite.
They're good sort of fringe contender types that lose to anyone remotely close to being legitimate world class. They're stuck between Euro level & world level.
They have lost everytime they have stepped up.
I don't really give Haney much credit at all for beating Linares. Linares is a decent boxer, sure but he's no world beater.
I don't think any of these guys deserve much credit unless they fight each other. There is a big drop in class from them to the rest of the pack.
They all need to stop calling each other names and all that and just fight each other.
You have Tank, Garcia, Loma, Lopez, Haney hell throw in Fortuna if its not them fighting each other then I don't see why they should get credit. Anyone else there is C+ really.Comment

Its not that you have two guys not fighting each other, there is like 6 of them.
Give the fans what they want!
Nobody cares for Loma vs Nakatani or Haney vs some number 15 ranked geeza from Equador or Cryan Garcia coming back vs a former European title holder.
Its nonsense.Comment

He is tall and long but doesn't fight tall.
Like I said in the op, nobody gives Crawford credit for beating Indongo just because he is tall and long.
Even a Crawford fan won't brag about that win or claim it was anything but a farce and he was undefeated with 3 belts and much better wins than a Nakatani.
Just because you're big and long doesn't mean you're a great fighter, boxer or use those physical attributes to your advantage.
It probably in this instance makes it more compelling but does it really make him a threat? Unless Loma's surgery is botched and his arm drops off mid-fight, I highly doubt it.Comment

This is why it’s hard to take these guys serious on this site pertaining to judging fights.Comment
