  • Jake Paul is "taking over boxing." Time for Junior to take over the youtube circus, er, enter the youtube circus. If the youtube circus can tolerate that embarrassment.

    • Oh boy, the final embarassment in Chavez jr's career, losing to a mma guy in boxing, and he couldn't make the weight.

Time to retire. He was a world champion or title holder anyway, and credit to that, but he has mainly squandered his talent.

      • Fair play to Silva, but everytime Chavez Jnr hits a new low he just reaches for a spade and starts digging.

I didn't watch the fight (tbh I'd sooner blowtorch my pubes/watch Okolie) but can imagine his old man, head in hands.

        • Boxing loses horribly twice in 2 weeks now.

That's what happens when you get arrogant. Karma strikes.

JCC has set boxing back. Didn’t just lose to a mma guy, he lost to a 46 year old mma guy.

            embarrassing
He never " set boxing back" . Anybody that knows anything about Junior or boxing, knows he doesn't have an impact on the sport of boxing at all. Never has, never will . Win or lose. You took this fight seriously? Chavez has been completely shot for many many years. Hes been a disgrace to the sport of boxing. Guys like Jacobs and Canelo fought Chavez Jr because of name recognition so the paycheck is a bit fatter. That's it. Nothing else. And he got embarrassed anytime he stepped up. He's been a farce basically from the get go. Any novice 180lb boxer would've whooped Chavez Jr last night. His father's fight afterwards, was a better boxing exhibition. These silly events aren't putting boxing back. What's putting boxing back is none of the champs and top contenders fighting each other. What's putting boxing back is ridiculous PPV prices. What's putting boxing back is fights that have no business being on PPV . That's what's putting boxing back. Not these goofy ridiculous matches with YouTubers and 59 yr old ex champs fight the son's of his ex buddy. Boxing, the true sport of boxing, f u cked up long ago. The new era champ wants high reward, low risk. There's exceptions obviously but few. Champions monetary demands have become outrageous also. Which makes for horrible undercards. The sport of boxing needs a serious reboot. And trust me, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr won't have any impact on the sport of boxing , never has, never will. And he won't be any part of any reboot either.

            • Congratulations to the spider. He was always more of a boxer in MMA anyway. Good to see him in boxing, he was really from a golden era of MMA. And as usual, Jr shows that he’s a dope smoking fast food munching loser who never prepares Ashe should. Total waste of talent. I hope he stays away from the USA and sticks to gimmick fights in Mexico

                • So happy for Anderson Silva, he deserved to win. Fight wasn't close at all, I thought they were gonna rob him.

I don't want to focus on how much of a disgrace Chavez Jr. is, I wanna focus on Anderson Silva puttting on a great show for the boxing fans like he's been doing for the MMA fans for all those years.

He's a class act and even though he's an MMA legend, he respects the sport of boxing more than a lot of actual boxers do.
