Chavez Jr. lost to an MMA fighter who was 46 years old, passed his prime and lost his last 4 fights and who previously fought in only two boxing bouts, the last being in 2005.

Yeah, the Boxing/MMA discourse is going to be something for the next upcoming days.

I hope he stays away from the USA and sticks to gimmick fights in Mexico
Anderson was more of a boxer in MMA? **** out of here, he's a Muaythai fighter, the best striking discipline on the planet without a shadow of a doubt.

          Most complete I'd say.

Mostly yeah, he was very dynamic. The Vitor front kick KO, the way he wrecked Franklin with knees, that dude he ****ed up in Cage Rage with that upwards elbow etc etc.

This fight just illustrates what a ****ing monster prime Anderson was. Like the guy is 46 years old in boxing gloves and not allowed to kick, knee, elbow or use his black belt BJJ, and he still looked pretty good. Now imagine him in his prime, in 4oz gloves and allowed to use the full extent of his skills.

Should be noted: Silva looked like **** in there. Copying all of Roy Jones moves, but got caught with nearly every punch thrown at him.

Thankfully Julio was so out of shape he gassed after the second. What was he averaging, ten punches a round? He just walked around the ring after Silva, and when he got him in the corner countless times he threw ZERO.

Marlen Esparza would have UD’d Chavez last night.

Yeah, weird post there. This why I thought Anderson wouldn't do well. He doesn't throw that many punches. Take away his kicks, knees, clinchfighting, elbows and he basically losses 90% of the striking he uses in MMA. Turns out the remaining 10% was more than enough to school Chavez Jr lol

Well, to be fair. He is 46 years old and has gone 1-7-1 in the last 9 years in UFC. Nobody expected him to handle Jr this easy. Nobody really expects him to do anything after this at 46 years old...

Anderson Silva has looked terrible (in the UFC) for nearly 10 years now.. after he ****ed up his leg badly.. + he is 46

I know JR was/is a bit of a bum.. but he's been around and fought some top guys.. honestly pretty shocked at the result/performance of the 2
