Shakur is in a tough spot. He shouldn’t have to fight bums like that. But he called out Valdez and TR says no and gives Valdez an easy fight and tells shakur he has to go to fight herring.

so shakur does just enough in this fight to win and will do the same against Jamel because if he loses he will not get the Valdez fight.

I understand Tim’s point that it’s entertainment. Tim kept telling shakur to take a risk in the ring. But if shakur takes a risk and gets clipped, he doesn’t get prime TV slots nor the big money opponents.

so it’s really a tough choice - win and be called boring but stay undefeated or risk losing to be exciting and if you lose you’re out of the picture.

It’s clear what espn and TR want is the best dudes winning by KO until they decide to make the best fights. The best fight at 130 to make is shakur v Valdez but that fight isn’t next.

So when do we get the best fighting the best?

Well......let's cut Shakur some slack, styles they say, makes fights......I remember Floyd vs Carlos bladomir, Floyd complained to his corner that Carlos was really awkward, so he did what he had to do to get the win

It's the style, safety first. Hit and don't get hit, and don't get hit, and don't get hit. That's good in a car park, but that's its own the reward. You don't get hit, and you don't get paid.

Running away from a sub par Journeyman didn't up his stock value, that's for sure...

True. But, on account of Baldomir likely being a pedo, I choose to remember his being slept by Canelo

I don't think there is a person alive that enjoyed your performance. You had your opponent hurt multiple times but failed to do anything about it.

he's imitating his idol floyd.. and that's the outcome.. instead of becoming a good defensive fighter.. he becomes more of a boring fighter.. he should know that by now.. following floyd's footsteps will not do any good.

I understand Andre Ward and Timothy Bradley's frustration and cry for Shakur to step it up and show some more offense and killer instinct. Shakur got the eyes now of the fans because they understand he's the new great top prospect in town, they are starting to examine his overall skill, what he's good at and what he's lacking at, this kind of fight is an opportunity to show it to them. Hence, Top Rank even gave him the perfect guy to showcase everything he's got. That guy is practically begging to be put out of there if only Shakur would leave his risk averse persona for just a moment. But he never did.

Fighting scared doesn't win fans. He should have taken Nakathila out yesterday.
