Point is, boring fighters are dominant, many times.
I hate Haney and Shakur being compared to Floyd. At their age, Floyd was blazing trails, almost effortlessly. They are not even close. You have to pay me to watch either Shakur or Haney next time. Haney is much better tho.

Fighting scared doesn't win fans. He should have taken Nakathila out yesterday.
With all due respect, you nor anyone knows what attract fans to a given fighter. Respecting your point about entertainment, fans very well could be attracted to excellence.

As to taking risks, I ask again why? TR, as we found out during the pre-fight interview, had already drawn up the Herring paperwork and the Valdez fight. So even if Shakur took risks and KO'd this guy he still wasn't getting the best fight next. So its a lose-lose situation-take risks or not, win or not, you still aren't getting the Valdez fight.

What would you have done in this situation?

The fans were booing during the fight. Tim Bradley said he was having trouble staying awake. The evidence seems to be that no one was attracted by this performance.

Even Shakur Stevenson offered an apology and an excuse. What these guys need to do is learn to get better at taking risks while staying defensively responsible. Devin Haney did that for 9 rounds against Linares and was exciting...then made a mistake. And now everyone is telling him to go back to a safety-first style, instead of telling him to just fix the mistake and keep looking exciting.

I had no intention of watching this fight because I knew it would be boring as f**k, looks like I was right.

Four years from now, Arum is going to complain about how Shakur isn't a draw and how he loses money on him, while still keeping him away from risky fights.

              Just like Crawford.

Although Crawford is actually fun to watch. It's just that he hasn't fought anybody risky in years.

That's the funny thing, he got slept by canelo, then Floyd schools canelo after having a "non- spectacular"( was spectacular to me, I love those kinds of fight) with Carlos.

All this to say, we can't get the full picture after one bad fight

Yep. "Fight math" is often bunk at a certain level.

                      I thought I answered that.

Take a risk and try to get your obviously outclassed opponent out of there.
