Mayweather turned pro, was fighting on TNF , at one point 2 fights in 2 weeks, and built up his brand over the years. In Mayweather's first year as a pro, he had 11 fights. Shields has been a pro 5 goddamn years and only has 11 fights. And I'm not picking on shields. I'm a fan, but I'd tell her this as well, something the people in her camp is not doing. You've got to fight on free tv, undercards, and take the tough fights regularly before the superstar status comes. Tyson did it, Roy Jones did, Mayweather did it, Hagler, , lots of them. And this goes for Ennis(who has already started talking about being a ppv star and his biggest win is Lipinets), Crawford, spence, etc..
Very nicely stated. Everyone has to start off at the bottom and work their way up the ladder. Build a name for yourself through activity and let people get to know you and build confidence in your ability. Clarissa expects to do this in 11 fights. Not going to happen.

        11 fights in 5 years?

the sense of entitlement from women and this new generation.

mayweather had his 11th fight at 1 year 3 days into his pro career. After 90-100 amateur fights and being cheated out of a gold medal. But this ***** thinks she is just entitled to be a superstar.

Should fighters care about what fans think?

If they want to draw big crowds and sell a lot of PPVs then they probably should.

Granted the amateur angle is new-ish & the Olympic thing has only been going on so long as well, but female boxing has been around since I've been watching boxing. Christy Martin was a mainstay on Don King cards for awhile back in the 90's.
yeah when i typed that i was too lazy to correct it, i was kinda thinking about the olympics and boxing, i do remember some women fighting in the past, just didnt pay much attention to it then, do a bit more now tho so it has improved i think, i think the ladies should be able to make millions in the sport, they need KO's tho and someone to fire things up as a bit of a destroyer

she has the personality of a tomato drying in the sun and she hasn't had a knockout in five years. she's not entitled to anything. boxing isn't that kind of sport, where you get a spot on a podium and you get paid for that spot. boxing is about putting butts in seats in stadiums and at home in front of tvs and streaming devices. she doesn't have that kind of style, personality, and i'll say it, looks. if she was smoking hot and knocked girls the **** out she'd be the biggest thing since sliced bread. but she's got a face like a horse and she can't punch worth a lick. 2 knockouts. f#ck off

she can't get fights. sure, she could get an 8 round fight off tv if she was willing to take 3500 bucks, but that won't happen nor should it. she takes opportunities that are given to her to get spots on showtime. now she's talking going to mma. desire isn't her issue. she had 80 amateur fights with 1 loss and won two gold medals in the olympics. for some reason she thinks she's to be paid as highly as top male boxers, and that is wrong. but her lack of fights does not come from a lack of willingness to fight. she's got people around her who know what she can get paid to fight on showtime and they are not going to take 2-3x the fights to make less money. she just doens't get offers to fight on TV and it comes down to her style and personality. she's not marketable. like i said earlier, if she was either good looking or had power she would be a star. or if she could sell a fight and talk like floyd or tyson fury or connor mcgregor. but she has none of those attributes. personality of a horse, face of a horse, punches like a little kid.

she COULD Fight, but she thinks she is too good for the pay

look how mike tyson got his popularity, he knocked out everyone, bums included enroute to his title fights, he had 27 fights in 18 months and by the time he challenged for the titles, he was the favorite over every champ.

She didnt fight all last year during covid. THere were multiple cards during last year, she could have fought on the undercard somewhere but she rather not fight than seek exposure. How many olympic champions were duds in their pro careers? she thinks her olympic medal entitles her to big pay days. She isnt doing anything herself to draw fans, 11 fights in 5 years at the start of a pro career is a joke. If she "Cant get fights" now does she think sitting out and complaining about it will magically get her more fights?

"Just due" requires ENOUGH people giving a fck about you and what you accomplished.

Your "just due" is right where it needs to be.
