No announcement yet.
There is absolutely nothing special about Devin Haney.

You could be right tbf, I have big concerns over Garcia’s mentality also.

I’ve watched tonnes of Toney and they fight NOTHING a like. Toney is an inside fighter, Haney never even engages on the inside. You’re talking absolute nonsense with that comparison mate, I get it’s subjective but I doubt you’ll find any other poster on here that thinks Devin Haney and James Toney have a similar style.
But beyond all that, what comparison would you make for Devin Haney then? Respectfully.

Yeah I do. He moves way more than Toney that's for sure.
Toney's strength is on the inside, where Haney is useless.
That fight with Barkley is at 168 and if anything is a showcase of a perfect style match up for him (against an aging past prime fighter) where he's on his chest and he's pieicing him up on the inside. You'd never see Haney in that kind of fight because his inside game is none existent.
I don't think I've ever seen Toney throw punches like Haney does. Haney throws punches like dangly almost, he's rangey and long. Toney is more compact and fights closer and shorter, throws way shorter punches.
Any weight for Toney, MW, SMW, LHW, CW, HW. He's slow footed and stuck in the mud. It's his biggest flaw by far (Amongst many others)
I don't see the comparison at all. It's night and day to me.
Because when I first watched Haney and the couple of fights after, I couldn't put a finger on it but I certainly did not see Mayweather when he did that shoulder roll. I saw a s/hit version of James Toney and that's what has stuck with me since.
