Wilder said he's had 3 training camps in this down time and there's another trainer in the background the he hasn't announced yet.

Steward would have been perfect for Deontay's attributes

Just lol at the idea that you can't add new things to your arsenal at 35+

It's what I hate about boxing sometimes. So obvious that most of you have never, ever had a fight in your lives let alone stepped in the ring.

If you want to be a half way competitive fighter beyond your 30s (which is becoming more of a commonality in both boxing and MMA) you HAVE to change up your style to accommodate your dissipating reactions and speed.

what about guys who started late like Deontay

he has a longer window for improvements? he hasn't had his habits for as long as the fighters who started at 13

Considering he went full-on Mike Tyson and replaced qualified trainers with his friends and yes-men, I'd say not much.

It comes down to drilling. This idea that boxers learn thing with some sort of permanence in their youth is a myth. Tons if hyper competitive boxers began in their teens or even adulthood. The key differentiator is really experience and quality of training. Most boxers who begin in their childhood often have years of amateur experience alongside dozens of amateur fights. Breland made it clear what his problems were...shirking on roadwork, not using the bag, relying on the right. If wilder really has been training consistently in the last few months then its likely he will look pretty different.

I don’t see him changing much if anything. Once the leather starts flying he will resort to what he knows, his bad habits. His only chance is if Fury doesn’t train properly and decides to just mail it in.

This time around DW is trying to incorporate some lateral movement but it is designed to not outbox Fury but run him into a big shot as he comes forward!!

He's still blaming juju, gloves and bent trainers.

                    He's learned nothing.

To develop the kind of skills he needs to develop at the level he needs to develop them at, he's got to be all in on it. His words say he isn't.

of course he knows how to look ok on a static pair of pads, he’s an Olympian boxer and former world champ. Doing it in the ring against a more skilled fighter is another thing.
Agree with this. If Fury makes it out of the 4th Wilder is destroyed.

His new trainer will throw the towel again lol it will be hilarious
