    He fights at 147.

Or are you saying you will be just as dismissive of Crawford fighting Amir Khan ( essentially a 140 pound fighter) or Josh Taylor (unified at 140)?

Because if you're not willing to admit that Crawford is a "huge welterweight" too, then you're a hypocrite. The dude frequently talked about going up to 154 because it'd be easy for him.

What held him back was that for years he was being avoided by the bigger names in the welterweight division and now he won't vacate it until he at least gets a chance of becoming the undisputed welterweight champion of the world.
      I see it differently.

Him starting later means he's more preserved. It also means he wasn't set up to take dives early in his career.

But most importantly: Remember, Darnell Boone started late too. This is a guy who beat Adonis Stevenson and dropped Andre Ward and Sergey Kovalev.

There's advantages to having started late if you're an awkward fighter. I think the only thing that can really hold Spence back now is his own ego. If he keeps that in check, he could follow the path of Canelo, but I think right now he's just trying to restore some sense of credibility to the welterweights because before him it was horribly broken. Kudos to him for that even if he doesn't fully unify. If I'm right and The Ring gets put up for Pacquiao/Spence, that would make it even better. We haven't had a Ring champion since Floyd in 2016. That's crazy.

Meanwhile, I'd like to see WBO get removed from IBHOF. They're playing games with Joshua that they're not playing with Crawford and it pisses me off.

I just think Spence should move up if and when HE feels like doing it, not based on keyboard warriors and their empty threats.

The only reason it's even a thing is that every single welterweight so far that has been willing to book a fight against Spence has failed...and people are frustrated that Crawford refuses to accept B-Side. Meanwhile, they're desperate to see Spence lose and don't see anyone else with even a chance, but they refuse to acknowledge this man's talent.

So they discredit Manny Pacquiao, the guy who took Keef's "0" and his belt.

I know the game. It's getting old.

"keyboard warriors and their empty threats" that **** is funny. I think when Mell drops the titles and goes up to 160, Spence could potentially beat some of the contenders for a title. Now, as a Spence fan, I can say that I think he'll struggle very badly against someone like Lubin, or even Julian Williams, at least for the first half of the fight. I don't know if Spence can hurt Lubin or Williams, the way either of the Charlos was able to and Spence would be undersized Imo, especially for Lubin, who's like the same height and build as Charlo. I know those guys have "butter" chins but Spence hasn't shown "devastating" power at 147. I know he was able to knock down Porter, but Porter wasn't like out on his feet. I think Spence could've stopped Danny Garcia in the 8th or 9th, but it would've been mostly because of Spence's volume and pressure, not just his power. Also, I dont think Spence is going to fight any of those guys at 154. They don't bring a big enough draw to make the fight worth it. The only person that Spence would fight (not because he's scared of the other ones) is Brian Castano, because they can sell fight as "Castano beat Spence in the Amateurs, yadda yadda". Anyways, mark my words, Spence isn't going to get any credit for the Pacman fight.

Spence's best skill is cutting weight and hes among the best at it
this happens a lot these days and spence atleast built up some resume

but the matchmakers are too used to milking everyone for as long as possible and dont want to match up two top guys because 1 has to get an L so why not milk it for another 5 years. hence no spence-crawford

then you got guys like andrande early 30s fought nobody. wilder 34ish before he fought for the lineal championship

DLH was fighting mosley, trinidad, ect in his 20s

          morales-mab - in their 20s

80s fab four everyone fought everyone

I don't think Spence will become an ATG, but he'll be a HOF. No shame in that. How many ATGs are even currently fighting?

You may be onto something there because every fighter is different. Spence could be a late bloomer and if he takes care of himself and his body he could potentially make a serious run at all-time greatness well into his 40s. This kid is beast mode. The sky is the limit for him. Also, as far as the WBO and the IBHOF goes; That's Bob Arum's belt. So I wouldn't be surprised if he had slipped them an envelope under the table.

He can make 147 comfortably and the his IBF title requires him to come in no more that 10lb over the limit the morning of the fight.

People need to pipe down. I guess there are many insecure midgets on here

Has anyone looked at the fact that the 147 division is where the money is at? He is going to go to 154 and fight who to get the money he is getting at 147? I’m pretty sure there are a lot of 147 pounders sucking their stomachs in or putting rocks in their pockets to stay at 147.
