Comments Thread For: Devin Haney: It Was a Good Shot - But I Wasn't Hurt, I Didn't Get Dropped!

Intimidation is part of the game and nobody is afraid of a hug. Linares lost all respect for Haney, he clowned him and strutted, he wasn't afraid. Haney can't bust an egg, his defense has holes, and he fades. The fear he inspires, is about getting hugged all night by a guy.

In general, it's much better to be dropped than to be hurt. You can dropped without being truly hurt (balance, positioning, etc.). But you can really hurt and never fall. Take JMM vs. Pac IV. Pac dropped JMM, not really hurt. But he landed a right in the 5th I think, that had JMM in more trouble than in any of their fights.
In this case, had he been flashed dropped, it's okay, happens. But he looked really hurt.

Canelo was wobbled by a lightweight who moved up two weight classes to fight him and has never been stopped. All these examples were against much lesser opposition. It’s not a huge deal.Oldskoolg likes this.
