Ok, right after the Arreola fight Ruiz said he was willing to take on Ortiz next, that was the plan, but you know, this little thing happened where the Fury, Joshua fight fell through and an opportunity came up, let me think for Ruiz, I could fight Ortiz and gain nothing or Fight Joshua and gain everything. Pretty simple decision, no hard feelings Ortiz, just business....

The nerve of this guy. Is he kidding? Ruiz stepped up to the plate and fought AJ when you wouldn't and defeated him. Do you think he will pass up life changing money and three title belts to fight you; Who doesn't bring anything to the bargaining table? What the Hell planet is Luis Ortiz living on?Comment

I think it would be a good fight. Who else is andy gonna fight next? Wait for what happens after wilder, fury, aj, usyk? I understand andy fighting ortiz is a step backwards. Maybe that's what andy needs is another fight like ortiz to get this game back before stepping in with the other big dogs? It makes more sense for andy to fight whyte but whyte has been more active. Plus i doubt whyte would fight ruiz. I like ortiz i wish he wasn't as old as he is. He'd def be done of the top contenders if he wasn't.Comment

He had signed a contract to fight a rematch with Deontay Wilder for more money than the Joshua fight offered.
But when AJ called Ortiz for a fight he said he wasn't ready, and Ruiz stepped in and won. I was shocked he did not take the AJ fight...he lost some status with that move to me. Followed that up by not doing much against Wilder who was also not doing much. Then against Flores, he really didn't do anything.
It's a nice fight that I'd watch but it seems like Ruiz can wait to see if Wilder wins against Fury, or if AJ call again soon (potentially sidestepping usyk)Comment

He had already signed a contract to fight Wilder for more money than the Joshua fight offered.

Well if it's true, then I can't blame him. However, the only problem I have with that scenario is there is no way of proving it. No one knows what his purse split for the Wilder rematch was. Perhaps The Nevada State Athletic Commission have a record of it or something but we simply do not know.Comment
