Ortiz would be more of a threat due to his decent boxing ability, size and dig but little Usyk will get his shot next only through his endeavours at cruiserweight and not his average performances at heavy.

I remembered Israel Adesanya saying the same thing prior to his fight with Costa. Saying how the casual fan and some MMA fan thinks built wins fights. They don’t look at strategies and gameplan of each fighters. You do what you have to do to get the win, whether it’s by potshotting, boxing and moving, walking someone down, jabbing and grabbing etc

Come on now, you know how it works on here, Ruiz is going to be played right down in the hope of a victory against Joshua makes for bigger mockery. However had it been the likes of Fury or Wilder facing him it would be seen as a solid test.

it’s the same game with the “fighting somebody’s left overs” bullchit. These ppl claim AJ hasn’t fought a top 2, meaning Wilder or Fury but if he did then he would be fighting somebodies left overs.

Before the first Ruiz fight, you'll remember I picked Ruiz. The same fans were talking about his height and his body. I mentioned how this isn't fitness modelling, and to go watch tape on Buster Mathis. I just don't understand how it's been less than two years, and the same fans are saying the exact same things, calling this a mismatch.

If Joshua ducks Usyk for fighting Ortiz, that would be laughable.

This is the second time that Ortiz has put himself forward as a substitute opponent for AJ. The first time, he was actually offered the job he asked for, then turned it down. AJ then fought Ruiz instead, and AJ/Ruiz was also a mismatch, as I remember.

No, Andy Ruiz was not a mismatch. Ruiz is a big guy that is strong and heavy and has fought at HW his entire professional career. So, definitely was never a "mismatch". He doesn't look very strong and athletic because of his physique and fat. Also, Ruiz was ranked quite low prior to the AJ flight being announced and was suddenly jumped ranks. He's got a good chin and fast hands.

Don't back track ...... you made it seem like the AJ win was a foregone conclusion. Which it isn't. That's why AJ/Hearn do not want this.
And based on the fact that AJ was knocked out or badly hurt at least 3 times in his career and Usyk hasn't once in his that I'm aware of, a KO certainly isn't an expected thing.

I am not backtracking unless you have a comprehension problem. I said, AJ ko'ing Usyk in the expectation while the other way round would be an upset. Upset happens when something that is unexpected occurs. So, yes, I put the probability of AJ winning at 80+%, so it is almost a foregone conclusion.

Usyk's only fought two low-level opponents professionally at HW which isn't much of a "career" as such at HW. What he can do is yet to be seen. From the little that we saw (2 fights), he did not look impressive at all. Usyk's a great CW fighter but looked average at best at the HW division.

Stop comparing his CW resume because he ain't fight a small CW. He is fighting a big, strong, elite HW champ.

Wrong. It's the third time. The first time was when Ortiz was WBA mandatory in 2017, four years ago. Hearn convinced Ortiz to step aside for Joshua-Klitschko with the promise that Ortiz would get the winner. He was then bypassed by Hearn for a Klitschko rematch, Klitschko retired, then a Pulev IBF mandatory, Pulev pulled out, then Takam.

Ortiz left Matchroom, agreed to fight Wilder, got caught with high blood pressure medication, WBC initially banned him, WBA removed him as mandatory, WBC reinstated him after their investigation, WBA did not, made Povetkin mandatory, Ortiz fought Wilder in a classic, Joshua fought Povetkin, THEN Joshua offered Ortiz a fight after Miller tested positive. Ortiz refused because he was getting a bigger guarantee to fight Wilder in a rematch. Ortiz later admitted it was a mistake, and Andy Ruiz ultimately got the fight.
