Ortiz is right that Joshua-Usyk is a mismatch. But he blew it (or his team did) when they were offered a fight. Having said that, Eddie did mention Ortiz and, to be honest, Joshua would need a partner if/when he decides to break into the US market. His last "launch" did not go very well. With Miller out, Hearn would need a name to fight in the US, perhaps before the trilogy.

One thing is for sure, Eddie needs a plan for Joshua outside of the Fury fight for that is never guranteed. If Joshua-Fury/Wilder happens, great. Otherwise, they need a good plan B. Ortiz fits into that if it happens without a year. Otherwise, he may be too old for any realistic challenge himself.

its so funny how this guy hangs around without ever doing anything. i really dont get how he rose up the rankings with such a sh-it resume. joe joyce's resume is much better than ortiz's ever was and hes not even in the rings top 10 and yet ortiz still sits at 6. povetkin is 8 with a billion times better resume and ortiz is 6? they both just lost but why is ortiz still so high? just 2 fights ago povetkin had a top 5 win. something ortiz has never done. never let the "eye test" morons decide anything

Why is he still relevant. He fights no one and has old man stamina. I would probably favour everyone against him currently who is durable, has some power and can push a pace against him.

AJ inevitably will fight Usyk to keep the prospect of undisputed alive (and the corresponding Saudi payday). Luis Ortiz has to take the biggest fight available (Hrgovic for the IBF eliminator or has he declined?)

I disagree. Usyk is 230 now, and I suspect will fight Joshua around 230-235. Joshua will want to be no heavier than 245 himself otherwise he won’t have the gas to go late. Usyk will outbox Joshua if Joshua doesn’t ko him. I don’t know why Usyk is being so easily dismissed.

I dont want AJ dropping any belts but that aside AJ/Ortiz is a good fight, **** Ortiz vs ANY other top HW would be interesting so we have more information to gauge how good Wilders wins over him were.

I'm not sure, Usyk can be challenging. He's not a big puncher at heavyweight but he is skillful and technical, so he's not that easy to beat.

I would say so as he's never been beat to be able to see how it's done
